Awesome, man... I'm jealous. I went to the ground school classes before I even had a permit, but once I started driving and got a car, I definately couldn't afford to rent the plane for a few hours a week.

Have fun, though... always a neat alternative for leisure trips. Are you going for any more ratings? My dream, if I don't get into flight school for the Air Force, is to get my high performance rating, get a good bit of flight time under my belt, and hopefully be filthy rich enough to buy a P-51...

theres really not alot of changes for private pilots , some extra precautions and the faa is a bit more strict on check rides but i think there are more changes taking place for commercial pilots obviously.

                  Congrats!

I finished CFI in the end of November, and I still haven't received my permanent. I just did my CFII oral yesterday, and will probably have the checkride tomorrow.

Yeah, most of the instructors are laid back when their bosses aren't around. Group leaders have a God complex. Just because you have a whopping 700 hours does not mean your God. Old airplanes that are crap. I mean I flew to Kissimmee to shoot a VOR DME approach and about time the final approach course was coming in the DME quit. I wasted $367 and didn't do anything but fly there and back. I didn't even get reimbursed.
