• So what is going on in Iraq

It just seems the media has turned a blind eye to it. I can't find a good source anymore.

Now that the election is only 2 weeks away, I thought there would be more coverage. So far all I hear is how hot the insurgents are getting and how many Americans, Iraqi forces, and police are getting killed.

What I would like to know is anything being done about it and any of these insurgents being killed or captured?

Guys who are serving in Iraq. How are you doing up there? Is it getting more hostile? Are the Iraqi people getting more anxious? What's the atmosphere?

    Stay safe down there

Don't worry about it, once the terrorists do something good, you'll hear about it. Unless we accidentally kill some more civilians the media won't be interested.

I'm sort of glad the coverage has calmed a little. When we did have 24/7 coverage it got a Marine possibly court marshelled

It's just like Vietnam. From now on we'll just get the daily body counts.

i'm only not editing your post b/c your an admin.

please dont turn this into a flame fest over the war. Just stick to talking about media coverage, why you wish you'd see more, why you're glad you're seeing less, ect.

I'll edit other peoples post that get out of hand.

i believe his post was quite germane... at least, no more off-topic than your steam over a marine being subject to a court-martial.

but, i think the networks are picking up on the fact that "soldier killed in iraq" isn't hitting like it used to. honestly, i wish they would go through the name and picture of each soldier killed to show a little respect.

the only time i ever hear that someone was killed is when i listen to NPR in the morning, and they just say something like "11 soliders were killed today when..."

that makes it sound like someone dropped 11 oranges, or tried on 11 shirts. i've lost 1 friend and two acquaintances over there now, and all i want is for them to be shown the tiniest hint of respect by an announcer alluding to the fact that they actually have names.

Although, I don't share Robert's political views, I think he's right on the money this time.

Honestly, it's been done before, and I believe that too many Americans would just change the channel.

This is sort of off topic, but at the same time, fits. Anybody hear from 3.4[deployed]? I haven't seen him on here since like August.

Last week another one of my friends got blown up, we get grenades thrown at us daily by kids, cuz thier parents known we cant shoot them, and things are about to get alot worse as the elections draw near. Besides that, not too much going on here, only 157 more days here!! LOL
