  • New rim type!

So i was thinking about this and there are 3 options, it has already been done because it is so obvious, it won't work, or however does this will be able to make some cash.
Why not make a rim that seperates into to pieces? If you did that you would never have to mount a tire again (don't know how balancing would work), but you could just split the rim in 2 then put the tire in, put it back together and fill it up. Can someone tell me why this wouldn't work, cause it is such an obvious idea that if it worked i am sure it would be out by now.

old military rims were like that, like on the original jeeps., rim split inhalf and you put the tire in between and then bolted the rim back togeather

They do, they are called split rims, they kill people.

The also make three peice rims, so you can replace parts of your wheel without repacing the whole thing.

You still have to mount the tire after assembling the wheel because it has to be sealed FROM THE INSIDE.
