On Friday night I was going to a movie and clipped a broken peice of drainage culvert that was knocked out in the road. Blew both passenger side tires. Now I have to order 2 new tires cuz the blown ones have holes in the sidewalls. :mad:
Do any of you think that it would be worth it to try and get the city to pay for it?
OMG, that's so crazy. I did the exact same thing last Tuesday night but on my drivers side. I tried to drive to Discount Tire and only made it about a mile before the tires started smoking like hell and my whole ride was uncontrollably shaking. I ended having to get towed into the rest of the way. But fortunatly it was covered under the road hazard warranty and I got two brand new ones for free. I ended up buying two so I could have all new ones but I ended up getting all new tires for the price of two.

I wish my road hazard would cover it. Mine doesn't cover punctures. But my tires aren't that expensive. I'm getting them for $136 w/shipping from tirerack.
That is why I am wondering if it is worth it to persue the thing with the city. I am not sure how much court costs are and stuff.
Camaronat- I'd contact the city and try to get it reimbursed. There are many cities that have programs to cover just such problems.
Call up City Hall; you're sure to get "phone menu and transfer hell" and voice mail, but eventually, you'll find somebody who'll gie you the scoop. For the 300 bucks you're out, its not a waste of time.

i hit a pothole that was in the middle of a road, that was on a road where a bunch of construction was going on (like where u have to go onto the old road from the new road) anywho, you couldn't see it at night and i hit it spun several times jumped a curb and hit a guard rail.
i presented the claim to the city and they paid up, every penny
