Chevy truck vs. Train

If you live in S. Calif., it in the news today. This happened at the very front of my new job.

A Chevy truck, from what I see, a Silverado is all mangled up by a train. Fortunately nobody was hurt. The owner got out just in time.

From what I could see the truck failed to stay clear from the track when traffic was fully stop. The train or railroad signals went on and the truck had no where to go. He's got cars front and back, side to side. When the engineers saw this they hit their brakes but as you know, trains don't stop on a dime. So the owner jumped out and the train demolished the truck.

Well this is certainly a lesson to be learned. Stay clear from railroad tracks.

you really gotta be dumb to not make sure you wont be on the track in traffic. sucks for him to be so dumb.

I stopped at a red light just over the tracks, well enough room so a train wouldn't touch me, but another car couldn't fit behind me. Well, some dumb@$$ thought it would be fun to stop on the tracks so sure enough, a train came!! The @$$hole started pushing my car (wasn't my camaro, thank god!) ... but I couldn't go anywhere cuz a big Jeep was in front of me! The light turned green and traffic moved just in time for him to clear the tracks when the train came. I pulled next to him, honking and yelling for him to pull over so I could see if I had any damage and he blocked his face and turned a corner real fast so I couldn't catch him ... stupid people!!

Sucks for that guy in the truck ... did the same thing this @$$hole did. Learned his lesson good I hope!!

If someone started pushing my car i would throw that ****er in reverse and ride up on there roof LOL maybe blow up the car in the process but it will be worth it, i might get out in time, but he wont [img]smile.gif[/img]

You do know.

Plain and simple, if there isn't room for you to drive over the tracks completel and you DO drive on the tracks and get stuck.. its not a simple mistake.

When freight and commuter trains travel across tracks that can kill you and your passengers, you don't drive over tracks unless you have somewhere to go.. PERIOD.

that means even if the light is green and a few cars start to move, you wait until there is clearance on the other side of the tracks before you begin to move.

Operating a motor vehicle is a very big responsibility. It saddens me when I have to drive on the same roads that unsafe and unaware drivers are on.

Amen magnus....I never drive pass the train tracks in traffic because in SoCal, trains can come anytime. I wait till I can get my car completly! off over the tracks.

most people cant judge the size of their cars. in fact most people are pretty sure their cars are about 3ft long.
