We had an auction at work (Trek East coast) and sold a bunch of bikes and all the money is going to the American Red Cross to help the Tsunami victims.
Other bikes that were sold was a Gary Fisher Sugar 2+ for 200 bucks.... had green/gold/orange flip flop paint. Another one i liked was a Trek Y Glide with disc brakes (100 bucks), a WSD 4900 for about 110, as well as some other stuff. I didnt bid on any mountain bikes because i already have a y26 which i have upgraded a bit here and there (suspension front and rear, saddle, handlebar, grips and CF bar ends). Another supervisor bought 3 bikes (the sugar, a Klein altitude Comp with silver/black flip flop paint) and the Y glide. I guess hes going to sell em on ebay. LOL
I had an advantage on this bike cause only one other person is short like me that wanted it (but cause i outbid him, he bought a Lemond for 100 bucks). Anyways the starting bid was 200 on the 5200 and It went up in 20 dollar incriments. I won it for 320 bucks. Not too shabby for a $2700 (retail) bike huh? Only thing is I need to buy some pedals on monday before they take the bikes to get fixed/cleaned and put together (if needed).
The 5200 is 50 cm, smoked carbon with Rolf vector rims... I believe the frame itself is about 2.4 lbs.
Anyways the things i am looking at buying are- Nike Ventoux 2 shoes (I can get em for like 30 bucks), Egg Beater pedals (bike doesnt have any pedals) and that will only cost about 50 bucks, and some road cleats. So all i have to do is spend about 100 more bucks and i will have everything I need.
It helps working at Trek cause I can get parts and bikes for very cheap. I just bought a 7500 (city/path bike) for 330.
I will get some pics later when I get the bike and all that. I am so excited.
