Well I suppose I just misunderstood your definition of resistance. I agree its way more work to run outside, but theres nothing resisting your movement.

hahaha, maybe you havn't been to Wisconsin in January. Last time I was there in Jan it hit -25 (without the wind chill) If you can run a mile in that with sweats on then you sir are my hero.

If you are wanting to burn calories, while using a machine, try an eliptical trainer. I know, after about 45 minutes on one of those, I can burn around 800 cals. Instead of having the treadmill move for you, you have to create the momentum for the machine to move. I'm going to be hitting that thing hard when I get home.

how good is it? depends if you were walking or running.. 2.5 miles in 30 minutes would be like 12 minutes a mile.. i suck horribly at running but i can do a mile in 10 minutes.. so yeah, it depends what you are trying to do..

running on a treadmill is a heck of a lot easier, i do it when im at the gym at home cause it doesnt have a track. all youre really doing jumping up in the air and you feel like youre going fast cause the ground can be going by under your feet at 9 mph, but its not really the same as sprinting 9mph outside. just try to run the same speed outside or on a track as long as you can on a treadmill. running for real is a ton harder. of course treadmills are still great for you, they just tend to make you feel like youre accomplishing more than you actually are.

You know losing weight is not the same as losing body fat ;) Anyways, so you wanna slim down....Just make sure you're burning more calories than what you're taking in....pretty simple as that. Average person takes in about 2500 I presume...and of course throughout the day you're constantly burning a few calories at a time....and I think the best heart rate is 750. (Don't take my word on that though)

If loosing weight is your goal I'd recomend using HIIT training with an eliptical. I'm by NO means an expert, but I found it very effective. I lost about 25 lbs in 5 months doing it with only slight changes in my diet and really not that much work.

I agree with Jones. By the way, thats not his name... C.O.Jones ... cojones.. you know, balls. HAH HAH.

Anyway, Trunks, jogging isn't the greatest exercise to lose weight. If you want to do something indoors, I would really try racquetball. Or swimming, that actually helps a lot too. Plus jogging tears up your body, it is a high impact exercise (unlike swimming).
