i blame MTV for teh downfall of good music. they lumped in vanilla ice with yo! mtv raps and poison with head bangers ball. it was all down hill from there.
now, much liek so many pop radio stations, tehy only play a few songs a day and they are always the same lame beat with some glammed up no talent tart leading them.
but i'm not bitter, really, i'm not. :D
personaly i think true metal is making a come back. it is slow, but it is coming

MTV is horrible. it isnt even music television anymore, it's reality television central. pimp my ride and viva la bam are the only thing MTV should be around for.

Breaking Benjamin in my perspective is the best band out right now by far, if you like rock and havnt heard both of their albums, THEY F*ING ROCK!!!! Get their We Are Not Aone CD and go STRAIGHT to Believe (#10) IT IS FREAKIN AWESOME!!!
Oh man I hear ya. I love Breaking Benjamin, I saw them live over the summer and I never get tired of their stuff. I really like Simple Design (#2 on We Are Not Alone) and Natural Life (#5 on Saturate).

I lived the rock in the 60's and I intend to live the rock of today.

rock music died when metal died....lets face it.i like some nirvana and pearl jam but they killed the metal scene and rock in general..which is why you now have bands like nickleback and bands like that record companies are looking for the next peal jam,or the next nirvana...the only new band i like at all is silvertide....

to me rock was killed in 92
you say its a v6 like its a bad thing

Musical tastes and styles change with generations. You can either change with it and like the new stuff, or live in the past and listen to the stuff you've liked since you were young.

For the record, I'm not that fond of newer rock either.
Atleast all the bands you listed are good

Music seems to go through cycles, I think we're on the verge of a new style of rock and hopefully some more good bands will come out.

I personally think that the 90s was the best decade for music. You had great rock bands like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, rap was good.

It seems the best bands were into hard drugs, Flyod, Metallica, Nirvana ect. so rock bands need to start doing hard drugs again :D

I wish there were better old older rock stations... not oldies and stuff older then 80s+...

really isn't much of a station of the rock of late 50s, 60s, and early 70s.

I listen to all kinds of music, and I too am pissed of "mainstream music" thanks to MTV.

But the ONE THING that I really REALLY REALLY want...

.
.
.
.
.
.

A PINK FLOYD REUNION CONCERT TOUR!!! (Keep in mind I'm 20 ). I think that would regenerate more life into REAL music. I'm saving up right now for when it happens. I don't care if I have to send over a stripper to Roger Waters' house every day just so he gets over his stubborness against the rest of the band. Until then...........

Rap is going down hill too... it's so trendy it's not even cool... i see so many wigger kids now, and im in a rich neighborhood, i always ask myself... what is this the million dollar projects? these kids talk like they were raised in the ghetto, Kids threatening to hack your computer or deface your car, or beat you up, its sad because... if i wouldnt get arrested for kicking a minors azz i would bust one if these kids in the face with a shovel

But as much as I am a metal fan and rock fan, i do like certain rap artists because after all thats what i mostly listened to as a young kid in my early ages of 5-10 years old, until i discovered metallica and manson and nirvana

Rap and hip hop used to be smooth, back in the days of paper boy, naughty by nature, warren g, easy e.

There was a different beat back then, it was so much smoother.

Now its all heavy beats and the lyrics are garbage, they are out of sync and dont match, I don't care to hear about rims and jewelery.

Eminem's current last 2 cd's were garbage.

The D-12 Albums's are decent, I actually like the first d012 better because it had original beats and some good songs. Even though some of the guys sounded off beat, the devil's night cd was pretty good to listen to while you were drunk having fun.

But eminem's last cd was the worst ever, he absolutely says nothing on this whole CD. His politcal rap attempts are stupid and unentertaining. He repeats himself several times... I think eminem's time is finally hitting a wall, and its sad becauseback when I was 15-16 years old his lyrics were so fresh.

Also wtf happened to justin timberlake? For a while he was putting out some good r&b solo's. That cry me a river was a funny song, i like that gah gah gah gah gah gah sh*t they have in the chorus, thats funny as hell.

50 cent down hill, his first album was awsome, his second was rims, jewlery, and bullsh*t

People want to say the music is just changing like it did for our parents and parent's parents, but... if you look at the garbage that is being released today its much worse than ever before. The music and movie industry no longer tends to a group of people's interests, it now just tends to how much money they can pull in by making everything likeable...

Alien vs Predator, both are supposed to be scary characters and pop out and make a bloody gore bath.

But no, lets make it a PG 13 movie so we can sell more tickets, lets take out the blood and swearing. Lets add "Matrix Style Effects" because the matrix was a hit so lets be unoriginal.
Now lets rewrite the script to fit our budget and give it to the same director that directed Mortal Kombat Annillation because we all know that was a hit movie with the world!

If anyone has read the AVP comic books, the movie is a total laugh to watch.

Lets just hope this director does NOT get Die Hard 4, or we must be watching bruce willis use words like "darnit, and "yippie kie yay punk!" With matrix style bullets flying around and no blood.

BTW the director's name is Paul W.S. Anderson

Goto google and type "Paul Anderson Sucks"
You will get tons of feedback on how much people hate him for ruining movies.
