I know alot of you probably dont belive much in online petitions, but its better than doing nothing right? Even if it doesnt do any good, atleast it will show this Marine, as well as others that we support them.
Id sign a petition saying that its none of our buisness and that we need to leave the judgement and discipline to the military authorities and stop pretending like we know what we're talkinng about. That goes for the media as well.
none of our buisness? If it was your friend or familiy member over there fighting, and he was going to be punished for doing his job, you'd think it was your buisness.
"You can hear the tension in those Marines' voices. One is saying, 'He's faking it. He's faking it,'" Heyman said. "In a combat infantry soldier's training, he is always taught that his enemy is at his most dangerous when he is severely wounded."
A Marine in the same unit had been killed just a day earlier when he tended to the booby-trapped dead body of an insurgent.
NBC reported that the Marine seen shooting the Iraqi insurgent had himself been shot in the face the day before, but quickly returned to duty.
About a block away, a Marine was killed and five others wounded by a booby-trapped body they found in a house after a shootout with insurgents.
Amnesty International has noted reports that insurgents have used mosques as fighting positions, and have used white flags to lure Marines into ambushes.
The Marine who shot the insurgent has been withdrawn from the battlefield pending the results of an investigation, the U.S. military said.
These terrorists do not follow the rules of war. These terrorists kill innocent women by disemboweling them, cut of the heads of innocent truck drivers, detonate car bombs in crowds full of innocent people, and fly planes into buildings filled with innocent Americans.

I haven't seen the video, so I can't comment on that, but in the quote above..

Just because they do it doesn't give us free reign, at least in my opinion. Because they are terrorists, they are not like our military where they are under one command, what we do will directly effect what they do. Not following the rules of war can have disaterous effects on our troops. Both moraly and repercusions from the other side.

you cant follow the normal rules of war when your fighting terrorists who arnt following those rules. These terrorists will blow themselfs up if they are cornered and it would kill american troops.

If a country invaded the US and you faught back would you be a terrorist?
Our troops dont need a stupid *** online petition to show support. Thats so cheap and trite. What does it make you feel better about yourself bc you wont join up but youre more than happy to let them get shot at?
Supporting our troops is not going to some stupid website.
There is existing protocol in the military to handle events like this - they will get to the bottom of it. Any attempt to claim you know what the hell happened is silly - you dont. Stay out of it.
Our troops dont have free reign to do what they want - its possible he was out of line, and its also possible he wasnt. You just dont know.

Why dont we ask some other military members on this board and see if they would rather see a petition like this, or your sorry *** badmouthing the war they are over ther fighting.
