I have never heard anybody say it would start a 747... but whatever, it starts my car so thats all I care
Hey , how long have you had your red top ?

I just went ahead and bought a nice expensive battery because of the heat in the summer time frys them alot down here .

I thought he was prabably full of it about starting a 747 ...

My Delco was leaking acid  so I bought an optima.. I like it so far. Seems to keep higher voltage than my delco did.

And the yellow top is a great "extra" battery for cars with big stereos. Run the system off the yellow top til it dies, then start your car and wait about 20-25 minutes, you have tunes again :D

Yes, your battery probably could start a 747. Big jets use APU's to start thier engines. An APU is basically a little tiny jet engine, that gets started with a regular electric starter. The APU provides pneumatic pressure to spool up the larger main engines.

The SR-71 Blackbird used chevy 454 big blocks as APU's back in the 1960's. THe big blocks would be coupled to the compressor of the SR-71, so they could spin it up to operating rpm.

Could your battery start a 454?
