It's late as ****, my mom is having heart surgery, and I can't think straight :scream:
I need to write a 2-3 page paper on Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, and/or Apocalypse Now, Redux. I have no idea on what to write about, and it needs to be done by morning. Please help me come up with some ideas!

With FMJ just discuss soldier moral and views during the war. Tons and tons of examples and "facts" you can use lol.

Actually what you should do is take the movies and compare what devices they use to portray the Vietnam War era, and how they effect the viewer in different ways, because they are all completely different movies with similar basis. I've never seen redux but FMJ and Platoon were two of my favorite movies. Unfortunately, I haven't seen them in a while, but I also had to write papers on them in high school.
Good Morning Vietnam (just to throw in another movie), uses humor and Robin Williams to show how even seemingly unbreakable spirits could be a little bit broken in Vietnam... Full Metal Jacket uses stereotypes of the military to provide irony in a place where you had to have a sick sense of humor to get through the day.
Platoon uses Charlie Sheen as a narrator to appeal to our emotional side and to show how even the most hopeful person can become unhopeful - and uses Willem Defoe to portray "Good" and Tom Berenger as "evil" to show that the enemy isn't just "out there", it's wherever humanity takes second place to greed (or some BS like that...).
Sorry, I've never really seen apocalypse down... just parts of it. THere is also a minor theme about losing your mind in the films (including AD)...
