the 'bird has all the bells and whistles. lsd, traction control, 3.42 gears, abs. goes pretty good in the snow. better than the open rear truck i used to have. i have the dunlop sp5000's and i think they work ok in light snow/slush.

Yes, TIRES! Front and rear. Nice skinny ones up front will help carve through the snow. Big ol' studded snows for the rear. I have no problems. So don't be a cheapass and get out there and buy some good tires. :D

My V6 made it through two New York winters before I started driving beaters in the winter. It's not horrid if you learn how to handle it, but by no means could I say it's good in the snow (I actually have heard people say that, it sort of blows my mind).

Yes, tires make a big difference, and definitely put some weight in the back which also makes a huge difference. You'll always have problems taking off from a stop without some spinning in bad snow, and you've got to learn to "power slide" turns sometimes, but if your ABS is kicking on, then you're stopping too hard, plain and simple.

4 snow tires, a set of chains for an emergency, and some sandbag in the t-top storage will help tremendously.

Otherwise spend that money for a beater and park the 'Maro

Brakes don't work in the snow very well. Its best to slow down by down shifting and use minimal brake. Even in an auto.

For emengcery stop, I have found it best to leave the car n high gear, with the clutch out and brake.

Yeah tires help, but after insurance and car payments, I dont have to much money left for high performance all-season tires. I just drive my moms jeep in 4-wheel drive. ;)

just remember 4wheel drive doesnt help your stoping distance at all.

thats the biggest thing it seems like people forget. no matter what your driving or what kind of tires you have. your stoping distance is going to be increased in the snow.

I know, thats the #1 thing people forget. I'm safe in the snow, after trying to drive my 'bird in it, i'm not gonna **** around in it.
