Me and my wife have them becuase we both work and actually like to get ahold of one another when we are not home. Other than that its good for other things, like if you get stuck somewhere or have a accident, or see someone else hurt. Or even if your at the video store and the movie your wife wanted isnt in and you dont have to play guess the movie for whatever mood shes in today. Or if your driving home and stop to get something to eat and you call home to see if they want anything, or maybe you have a friend who lives far away and you can use your free nights and weekends to call and say whats up instead of paying long distance or buying calling cards.

I would have to say that I love my cell phone. I think your issue is with people being rude on the phone not with the actual phones themselves. I don't answer calls when it's not appropriate. I don't take calls when I'm eating or in the library or the movies. If I'm having a conversation with someone and I get a call I don't answer. I'll excuse myself to check the voicemail later though. I hate it when people answer their phone at a restuarant. It's rude to answer your phone whenever you're eating.2004 Dodge Ram QC 2500 CTD

I don't ever wish that on anyone.
okay back on subject: Most cell phone users are very rude and impolite. When I am at work, my cell phone in on vibrate. If I am in a metting and I get a call and I feel the vibration, I simply hit the side button and it goes directly to voice mail. If it is important enough they will leave a voice mail.New Toy Red 94 Formula LT1

I do find it a sick phenomena how everyone needs to have a phone by their face the majority of the day as if they could never live without it. And I do get sick of these idiots who think their so cool b/c they have a piece of **** camera connected on their phone. But I accept it as a sign of the times and move on. I will only have my cell on during the day when I know someone has to call me with something important. I dont need a brain tumor from having by my ear all day http://www.sounddomain.com/memberpage/437104 96 Firebird M5

my mom origionally got me and my brother each a cell phone when we were 15 so if she needed us she could call us. i am now 21 and i couldnt imagine not having one because i can leave home and not have to worry about calling or telling anyone where i am because if they need or want me they can just call me. i have a camera phone and cant wait until they come out with a higher quality one. i used it the other day at work when a lady came in with a really tight pushup bra that made her b**bs look like the were goin to pop and u should of see a side view. and no i am not a pervert nor do i take pictures of every girl i see and that is the firts picture i have taken of a girl that wasnt a friend93 3.4 w/K&N FIPK installed 1/13/04

Think before you go posting bull$hit like that comment you just made. That cut deep  :(
First, I think you meant resent, not resemble.
Second, I am very sorry for your loss. I didn't mean to upset you.
THird, if it was the middle of the night, wouldn't you get the call on you land-line?
To everyone else-
I don't see why people can't live without them. They only came out a few years ago, and it seems like they are just as important as clothes or cars in respect to your everyday life.

Don't you feel as though you have no independence? Aren't you embarrassed that you have to consult your wife in making the simplest, most irrelevant decisions?
As far as people getting ahold of me when ever they want, I consider that a terrible burden. If I am out doing something, I don't want to be interrupted because some pukeface would like to ask me a question. It can wait, I promise.
Basically, I feel as though no one has any manners anymore. Most cell phone users are really rude and consider thier own phone communications more important than face to face conversation. I see them as a generally unnessary commodity, that cause more problems than they solve.1999 red camaro v6 M5: with a turbo
13.52@107.99
No, seriously: Who Farted?
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/600086

You know, when youre the one who is disagreeing with 100+ million cell phone users, I'd think you might wanna re-evaluate your position.
Free longdistance
Free nights and weekends anywhere in the country
Free in-network calling
All plans are now much more flexible.
Youre as easy to reach as you want to be
So many benefits.

Yea, i have a phone, and have for like 3 years now. Am i glued to it? No. I hate talking on the phone.
I just looked at my phone log, and my average call length on my phone is 1:09 (thats one minute nine seconds). I call people to say "yo, were you at.........ok..........ill meet you whereever"
i dont call in theaters, or any public place for that matter really.
whenever im in the library or a theater or a place where people expect privacy, i turn it on silent mode. thats what voicemail is for.
