If I don't get a job soon, my car is going to get reposessed. I am hungry and lonely and cold.
I just graduated from college with a BS in Professional Aviation. I have 250 flight hours. That isn't enough to get a job anywhere. They all want at least 500 hours.
I am going into the Marines full time on April 7th. I can't sit around that long with no job though. I will lose my car and... well... that would suck.
I checked out washingtonpost.com, and they have about 10 million jobs listed. They all say "anylist" or "consultant" or "accountant" in the job description. I have no idea what that entails. I would love to sit in an office from 9 to 5 for the next few months, but I would be expected to get something accomplished.
THere are lots of driving/courier jobs in the DC area, but they all require a good driving record. I have 31 tickets, and 30 of them are for speeding. I probably won't get any of those jobs.
There are a few jobs for mechanics in the area, but they are all for import dealerships. (there are no domestic cars in the DC metro area) I built the engine in my camaro, but I don't know much about import stuff. WHo the hell would put a cam on top of a motor? I don't have a virginia inspector liscense, and I am not ASE certified.
The 7-11 down the street from me is hiring for it's graveyard shift, but that place gets robbed like once a week. I don't want to get shot unless I am on active duty in the Marines.
Where should I look for temporary jobs with decent pay?
Pathogen- does your company need anyone to do entry level stuff? Please? How about you Stefan, Does your company have any openings. I am willing to scrub toilets at this point.
