I avoid plates.... but.... they usually pile up if it is something quick.

Now, if I am spending all day cooking then right in the dishwasher w/ the easy stuff and rinse the difficult stuff

For me its usually not dishes but pots and pans...

When I cook I am usually hungry when my food is ready to eat, I go eat it, then I sit because I am full and I just ate... Poits get neglected, most the time, I rinse my plate off and put it in the sink, sometime I put it in the washer.

Biggest problem, is I have had a dishwasher in the last 4 apartments I have lived in, 3 of those apartments were specifically built for the idea of college students to live in and the 4th is government subsidized in the ghetto.

All of the dishwashers sucked, you have to wash the dishes pretty thoroughly before the go in the washer, and you can never put anything like a mixing bowl or any pots and pans in there to clean.

So I get backed up a little. But never run out. Me and my girlfriend at our old apartments before we lived together were the ones that had all the kitchen supplies, in we used to both live in 4 roomate apartments. NOw its just the 2 of us, I had 3 sets of silverware and I think she had 2, so we have 5 sets of sliverware for 2 people. I think thats more then my parents house when we had 5 and 6 people living there.

Same goes with silverware, pots and pans.
