    blew my 1.3 athlon

    Yep.. sitting reading stuff, ligand-fit (the cancer research thingy) runs in the background... suddenly comps shuts off, horrid smell fills the room.

    After stripping everything down, I got to it... burnt up. Apparently the dust clogged the heatsink and air stopped circulating, so CPU overheated. You did good 1.33 Athlon T-Bird.

    Just ordered Athlon 64 2800 Newcastle core on Chaintech board @ 400mhz FSB - good deal on newegg - only 180$!
    This time I bought oversized heatsink and better heatcompound.

    I heard they run stable at 2.5ghz overclocked and run pretty cool. Let's see what I can do [img]smile.gif[/img]

            Just think At least it didnt take Motherboard with it....

              I don't get it. Why are you all so worried about how I live my life? If I wanted your opinion on my player ways, I'd ask for it. Sounds to me like some people here suffer hopelessly from small penis syndrome.

                              Nope. It does have CPU temp monitoring though, but it doesn't have auto shutoff feature. It's a cheap no-name board, so..

                              Yeah this new board is actually Gigabyte, not Chaintech.. I donno why chaintech was stuck in my head..
