I have donated blood twice in my life. The first time I did it, I fainted. The second time I did it, I acually passed out. I told myself never again. I wish there was an easier way LOL.

For those who faint from loss of blood:

Next time you donate blood, ask them if you can just donate plasma, and not blood.

What they do, they take blood from you, just as they would normally, but then they put it in a machine, which i believe centrifuges the blood away from the plasma, and then they put the blood back into your body.

I've never done this, but it's supposed to be a lot better, and you're not supposed to get the tired/weak feeling associated with giving blood. Also, it takes about twice as long, but once the needle is in, you can't feel anything anyways.

I'm like CO Jones and can't because I lived in England for 2 years... silly silly rule - they can screen for that! It's amazing how many people they won't let give blood anymore - I"m sure half the military families in the world aren't allowed to donate blood. I used to donate... I'm A+ too...

I'm not allowed because I run track. It will make my performance go down. The red cross loves my blood though: 1) because it has lots of red blood cells and stuff from running. 2) because I'm B+.

I gave blood until I started running track though. After I stopped, the red cross started sending me letters saying. "If we offended you in some way, we're sorry."

:D They also gave me a little sticker that makes it so my blood stays in town and not distributed out because it is rare.

                  Anyone donate plasma?

I hear its about a hour process but they pay like $50 if you do it?
I donated plasma this past semester at school to earn a little extra cash. I got $60 the first week for doing it, donating twice a week and every week after that I got $15 the first time in the week and $25 the second time totalling $40 a week. It was alright money but now it looks like I did heroin and it took about an hour given there werent too many really trashy people there waiting before me.

O+ here, Red Cross calls me at work 2-3 weeks before every company blood drive - I make it almost every time.

First time donating way back I got faint and had to put my feet up. I told myself, "I'm 5'10", 190 lbs, a pint shouldn't make me dizzy. It's all in my head." Never had a problem after that.

Cars are kind of useless because only humans can use them. Air, now that's the good stuff, air can be used in humans, deer, frogs, raccoons, whales, and elephants!

When I was a little kid I fell into a pile of lemon tree branches my dad was trimming, the thorns were about 2" long.
A thorn went completely into my knee and for some reason, they needed to use a 50 foot long needle to inject some crap in my knee to dissolve the thorn or something.
I havn't liked needles much after that.
They had to use a 50 foot long needle?? Somehow I doubt that...
