If you ship through UPS, make sure the boxes are sturdy and don't go more than the box says...and for god sakes go to a UPS hub! Do not go through a store, they will try and charge out at the wazoo.

We're not supposed to do moves for people, but I don't care. I know people say oh its just clothes, but like 10 boxes of them. :rolleyes:

Our insurance through the hub is also 35 cents on the hundred, and the first hundred is free. UPS stores charge a lot more for insurance.

the trailer hitch is nice if you have the power (ie a v8 or turbo v6) and plus if gives you the whole white trash look. i'd go the shipping rout if i were you though. seems the most cost efficient way. probably cheaper than renting after you add in the extra gas for the round trip + driving the maro. I would look at fedex (ive had much better luck with stuff not breaking with them)

I'd see how much you could stuff into the camaro, then ship a few extra boxes of what's left over. Stuff your car to the brim, these cars do actually have a good amount of space if you utilize it right.

I moved my whole drumset (8-drums+hardware), my computer and monitor, all my clothes and a few other odds and ends from my old house last year and still had decent driving visibility. Stuff all the boxes in first, then instead of boxing your clothes just shove them into crevices on top and in the sides. May be a little wrinkly when you get home, but could save you some cash. And then you probably wouldnt have too much left to ship with UPS.

I know when I got out of tech school and arrived at Barksdale, I could have had TMO pack all my stuff up and ship it to where I was, or they would have reimbursed me for a dity move. Maybe you could look into that?

but if its just you driving, pull your seats out load up evertything you can, ship your seats and the rest of the stuff.

I's be more apted to ship legos then tools, and clothes, you could fit alot in your car, you can put them in wired spots. Likea all your underwhere and socks could go under the sail panel on the side opposite the spare. [img]smile.gif[/img]


Like people say you can fit alot in a camaro, I have moved 5 6-foor folding tables with the hatch closed before. TONs fo big boxes, and used nothing buy my camaro for every move(4) until now.

The only vehcile that doesn't choke pulling anything but a Jetski up a hill is a diesel. When you get to a hill, hit your flashers, downshift, burry the throttle, monitor your temps and take it easy up the hill - it won't kill you to take a few passes at 35-45mph. And remember, that going up the hill is only half the battle, you gotta control that weight on the downside too, and again a V8 Dakota should handle that.

Anything can pull a trailer. Hada chevette with one and hauled stuff. Most 3rd 4th gens I have seen were pulling 1 or 2 jet ski's

If you get a reese hitch. You can't even see it once the tongue is removed.

if they didn't cost so much id have one on my firebird already. That way I can pull my bike to the track too.
