• Will the 4th gens be valuable classics?

Now that many of the 3rd gen Camaros/Firebirds are technically considered classics (over 20 years) I thought about this: most of the 3rd gens I see out there are run-down, very few take the time to restore them...in '85 or so a '68 Camaro was considered a cool car, and worth restoring, am I wrong? Now I wouldn't bother with an '85 Camaro. They're redneck cars (sorry 3rd gen owners that actually have TASTEFUL cars.)

Will the 4th generation Camaros/Firebirds fall victim to the same fate?

I think not, because the 4th generation models are a lot faster and have a lot more collector value (i.e. 35th SS) They're better looking as well IMO.

    what do you think?

definately better looking. i would think they would become collectable since they are the last of the breed also. thats why if all works out i plan to keep mine as a family heirloom

I dont think theres a better looking car then a well done, well maintained 3rd gen IROC.

Is anybody else really tired of F-bodies being associated with mullets and hoosiers?

i dunno man, in hispanic, or actually mexican soap operas if you see what kind of cars the rich young guys, say 20 year olds and so, drive there, they are mostly z28's and trans am, I am talking anywhre from 95-97 styles. I dunno why but i guess the mexicans consider third gen fbods rich people sports cars, or they can't afford a vette for the shooting of the soaps. hehe

The problem with a 4th generation camaro becoming a valuable classic is the problem that some of us have seen when tryin to sell our cars.. The value is so low that its not even worth the trouble of trading it in. the 4th generation was way overproduced, so they will become classics, but with over 500,000 made over the years, there are more available then the 13 or 14,000 1967s produced... really sucks, but oh well, i guess the last thing we have to worry about is the car rusting... well the whole car.

I think the WS6's, SS's would be valuable. I dunno about the anniversary though. The 25th 92's don't fetch that much. I had one. Trust me.

They will but it will be a long time from now... especially the 35ths...

was it 98 that they had the anniversary trans am? I see that being worth alot being the first year with the ls1...

as for our v6s, won't be worth **** except for spare parts.

Um, no - the reason the F body was cancelled was that the sales volume was way down. GM unloaded a bunch of Camaros in the last two years as cop cars.

like i said.. they were overproduced.. meaning they had made more than the market would handle... wich is why they handed them out to the cops, and why trade in value sucks...

i think that our cars (V8s) will become special simply because of the final switch to more effeicent cars like hydro and eletric. gas powered will be done for good in no more than 35yrs. :D
