c++ compiler needed

Ok I need so many tools for my business and nothing that I need is on the net. I took a class in C++ back in college and I have not touched it since. I still have the book and all my papers too. I think I was using Borland software. Does anyone have this software they could...:Cough:....lend to me or know where I can get a free copy at?

I need to write a program that my clients can run from their computer that will:

1.ping client gateway, then
2.Ping client WIFI radio, then
3.Ping My Access Points, then
4.Ping My router, then
5.Ping my GW,

Where the pings end I need it to display a message to my clients. I just want them to either get a "Client router not working, please reboot or contact mfg" or "ISP ap #3 not working, please call 555-5555". I don't want them to see the pings taking place, just maybe a hour glass while they wait. So many times its the client router that is locked up but it takes me driving to the client office to unplug their netgear router when they could just do it them self. I plan to write the software then add a flash page to it for looks.

The problem is you can't write to any drives with Knoppix.

Download a Linux distro and put it on one of your old machines. They all come with a free C++ compiler. Microsoft doesn't follow the C++ standard like they should.
