Well i just got the new copy of Road and Track in the mail today and on the front cover is a picture of the possible 07 camaro... thats right 2007 and not any later... perfect right? just in time for a 40th aniversary celebration... Reading the article it says that one problem is that GM promised canada that theyd always build camaros/firebirds in canada... the article also points out the cancelation of the zeta platform for the cost crap... r&t has that an insider from GM says that a possible scenario would be to build a live rear-axle varioant of the Sigma platform... this would also underpin a rear drive impala and monte carlo while allowing GM to keep theyre promise to canada... possible engins woule be either the 3.9 or the 3.6 both with around 240 horses and then a 300 horse 5.3 for the z28 and then possibly the 400 horse ls2 for an SS variant... insiders are sayin to expect a camaro concept at a major auto show in 2006 with a 2007 launch into showrooms which would be perfect for the 40th aniversary.... see? gms not crazy... they want some of the share of the new mustangs sales while once again whoopin its a$$ on the track... sketches look semi-retro and very good in my opinion although i would work on the front end a little bit... high-five for GM? i guess we'll wait and see...

http://img121.imageshack.us/my.php?image=page14wx.jpg i figured this was useless without the pics... i like this design better then the one with the big round headlights...disclaimer: \"warning.. this post may contain somewhat of a funny comment if read properly... take my comment out of context at your own discretion...\"

thought this might be another one of the post but finally a legitimate source, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
i'd open up the grill a bit more and do something with the rear end it just doesn't look right. put some chrome on her give'er some bling bling, but other than that it looks pretty nice.

come on... why ya gotta smack me for? i thought it at least sounded like gm has a plan instead of coming up with one and then canceling it to get more trucks and suvs out on the road... i mean dont get me wrong it still might not be anywhere close to reality but it at least sounds feasible right?disclaimer: \"warning.. this post may contain somewhat of a funny comment if read properly... take my comment out of context at your own discretion...\"

GM is committed to cranking out more fuel efficient tanks in this era of $0.19/gal gas times because of the huge proffits involved.
also, there is about 5 other threads on this topic.1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built

What about the birds...? That concept is really ugly also. Anyway, it better have more than 300 hp, and more than 5.3 liters if it does come out. The SS would have to compete with the new Shelby, meaning close to 500 hp for ~40,000 dollars. Sorry, 500 hp is C6 Z06 territory. In other words, GM is screwed.Black \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth<br />Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.
