  • Update on gas problem....

Took my car into the dealership, They said it that rear end and gears are messed up and while out testing completly blew out. They are now dismantilling the backend to check to see what needs replacing and what needs to be rebuilt, The dealership called this morning, "Hey bud, I hope you are not having a good day, because you are about to have a really bad one..... its gonna cost you 300 dollars just for us to look at what needs to be rebuilt and replaced, The head machanic told me to tell you that Its all screwed up and it is atleast gonna need a full rebuild. And I cant pick it up to drive because while testing the gears and all splintered, you no longer have rear gears."

ARGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! The car was the only thing of mine that made it through Hurricane Charley, some damage but alright, I cant afford a full rebuild, hell I cant afford the 300 dollar strip fee ontop of the $75 diagnostics. I am soo freaking broke.....I DESPISE 2004, this year has been CRAP.

I know what you mean on these ****ing extended warranties I had to fight mine on my power steering. Call them up and talk to a supervisor of theirs and explain it to them see if they will pay for it.

Next thing I coudl suggest is maybe look for a rear end swap.

check out the FL seciton at www.camaroz28.com been a couple rear ends for sale around there, like $200-300 local pickups. I'd do that before they even try and rebuild your rear, you are looking at like hundreds of dollars to get it fixed.

Also look into arguing about the $300 tear apart, and why your rear end worked great until you gave it to them and THEY broke it, ask if they were abusing it.

Yeah I would do what MustangEater suggested. If they won't cover it under any type of warranty then have it immediately towed back home and fix it yourself. Either replace what broke or if you don't want to mess with that just replace the entire rearend with a good used one from a wrecking yard for example.
