I was really looking forward to them coming out. The new 3.5L v6 should be hoss with its 255HP.

I went and looked at one last night, and I didn't really like it. The press release pics looked cool, but in person they are ugly. It looked like a nissan altima with a solstice front end. I don't think i will be buying one. I guess I'll just stick to a GTO.

The Bonneville GXP looks sharp as hell, though. If I were like 25 years older, and had a family, I would definatley buy one of those.

I went to the dealership at 4AM when I got off work. I looked like a crook snooping around the dealer lot at that hour, especially since I was wearing all black. After I had been there for about 15 minutes, a cop started circling the dealer, so I figured I had better leave.

i was at breakfast the other day with my dad's boss, and he said his wife was at the oprah show where they all won the new G6's

when i saw them in person, i think they look cheap.

Its a Grand Am replacement...

As for the GXP its a blast to drive, but I woudl still rather and older GTP 4-door if I wanted a family hauler. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Id rather have that grand prix with the nortstar v8 that is coming out, i guess like the gxp.

But then there's no supercharger on it :( , it's my understanding that it's gonna be the 5.3L V8, but not a northstar engine

Ok, I went to the dealer again today, this time while they were actually open.

the salesman showed me around in the G6 and the GXP. My GF has sat in a camaro, TA, GTP, and now a G6 and a GXP. To my extreme surprise, she said the GXP was her favorite! There is now way in hell I am buying one before I have kids though.

The dealer guy also told me exciting news. In january, the G6 is being released in GTP trim. This includes:

2 door coupe body style
6 speed manual trans
3.9 liter v6 w/ 240 hp

That sounds really cool for a daily driver. i imagine the price will be just over 30,000, since the current G6 is about 28,000.

97chevy and mustangeater: I looked under the hood of the GXP, it had a northstar, but I don't know the displacement. It was not the 5.3L pushrod motor.

Unfortunatley, there are no plans to release the Grand Prix as a 2 door.

I still think a GTO will win out over a G6 GTP. I want an LS1.

Speaking of GTO... I heard for the next year model it will now have the VETTE's LS2 engine. I don't know if this will be the upcoming GTO JUDGE model.

no, it will be the base GTO. it is also getting optional exterior accessories too, like dual hood scoops.

when the new Z06 comes out, i'm sure they'll toss the LS7 into the GTO and call it the Judge.

They already have working LS7's....anyone who's seen that orange GTO concept that GM Engineering did, it has an LS7 in it. it is finished off with some LS6 and LS1 parts...makes 575 HP in that Goat.

I think you're talking about the Bonneville GXP, which is the 4.6L northstar, the Grand Prix GXP is not out yet, and according to Car and Driver will be a 2006 model, and will keep the L32 Supercharged 6.
