  • Why high lift trucks are dangerous

High lift trucks have poor visability period. So far I've seen high lift trucks back up on cars. Side swipe a car when making turns and irritate drivers with their lights at night. Because it's acts like a high beam light.

But this one is the grand daddy of them all. Now I can say, I've seen everything.

I was going to a shopping center in this very busy street. My wife and I were planning on making a left turn and at the corner I see this huge Ford 250 that's been lifted.

Now this truck was going to make a right turn. I see that the driver set his truck for making that turn. The driver seems to have his eyes set to the left trying to see when traffic is going to clear up in order to make his turn.

There are people wanting to cross the street. Now since this truck was so high and the windows heavily tinted, I don't think the driver could even see through the people's heads.

The signal light turn walk for the pedestrian and unfortunately the traffic became clear for this truck; a man crossed the street and got in front of the truck. In a split second, the man jumped to avoid being hit by truck.

The truck driver didn't know that he almost hit somebody and sped away. And I mean sped away. The man was ticked off and the rest of the pedestrian shocked.

Who said, white man can't jump. :D

i've drove a few lifted trucks and never had any problems with seein other people.. one has about a 6 inch lift and the other has a 6 inch body lift and a 3 inch frame lift i think... but i've never had any problems with them.. it has a lot to do with the driver.. some guys that lift trucks just try to mess with people.. and when they are lifted the trucks will just kind of jerk side to side sometimes because of all the extensions with the steering and everything.. i noticed that in both the trucks i've drove

Yeah... Lifted trucks are dangerous because a couple idiots don't know how to drive one. Did you ever think that maybe his super dark tint had anything to do with it?

Might as well hate Camaros because some punk kid somewhere drove one 100+mph around a wet corner and wrapped it around a tree.... and hate Buicks because some white head forgot which pedal was which and idled through a daycare's front window.

I own 2 trucks, one's jacked, the other's a mildly lifted Dodge 2500 (3/4 ton). I have easilly twice the visibility in either truck as I do in my beater, and 4 times the visibility as I do in my Camaro. The only PROBLEM I have while driving either truck is idiots in little cars thinking my 6,000lb truck towing an 8,000lb trailer can stop quickly.

And that's just driving. Lets talk not-at-fault wrecks..... Take getting rear ended, for example. Rear end me in my truck and you'll be enjoying your ride home with Chuck the tow truck driver, while I drive home and enjoy the new trailer hitch your insurnace will be buying me. Pull out in front of me and say "Hi" to Chuck again for me.

Your claims are based solely on ignorance. While you're at it, blame Ben & Jerry for Rosie being fat
