scam question on autotrader

Think about this for a second. Not bashing your car or my car or anyones car, but if someone has the money to have an actual auto broker ship a car to him, why would he be looking at an automatic V6 firebird? If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.

My girlfriend put her Jeep on autotrader. The very next day she started receiving those e-mails. Every one had the same basic plot to the story. One I remember being exactly like yours and wouldn't be suprised if its the same guy. So must be the guy is interested in F-bodys AND Jeeps also huh? Cmon man, that has SCAM written all over it.

I told her not to reply and its been a month now and no one ever follows up on the e-mail. Yea, really interested aren't they?

She sold it to a person that came and looked at the car and put the cash in her hand.

HAHAHAHA, I got that SAME EXACT EMAIL from the SAME PERSON. DO NOT sell it to him. I told him I know he's a scam, and he hasn't emailed me back. What a surprise. I would not ever sell to anyone outside of the U.S. These scams always involve people outside of the U.S. because you cannot go after them. DON'T SELL IT TO HIM.

It's a scam, why would he go out of his way for a '96 Firebird. No offense, but they're everywhere. Its a classic textbook scam. You'll get a check, but it'll never clear.
