  • motorcycle history report?

ok, i might be getting an 04 cbr600rr for an extremely good price. I will get to check this bike out before I pay for it, but i think it might be stolen, it is that cheap. From the looks of it, its in perfect condition, 3500 miles, never been dropped, aftermarket exhaust and other extras, riding gear included. It is supposed to have a clear US Title. I have the VIN number, but it doesnt find the number on carfax, i think because its a motorcycle. Is there a website i can check the motorcycle history?

I searched but did not come up with much. If you think it's stolen, do you think you could call the police and have them look up the VIN? Besides, out of curiousity, how much can it be? Bikes drop value fast. The value of my bike dropped 2 g's in just one year.

its $2800 shipped to my door, i supposedly get 10 days to inspect it before i pay. with that price, you would think it was stolen, but i cant assume that becuase its an incredible deal.

his reasoning for the price was that he moved to italy, and took the bike with him, and he didnt pay import taxes on the bike so he will lose it if he doesnt get rid of it quick. and if he does pay import taxes and then sells it in italy, he will lose more than what he already is.

you have a sweet bike by the way.

unless he's military and can prove it... skip it!!!

Big scams on bikes being sold over the net, across seas.

You can have your local pd check the vin in the national DB to see if its stolen, but if its over seas... don't count on it showing up. Find one locally... they can be had.

If this guy is willing to send you the bike to your address, no if ands or but's... no cash down, I mean, not one cent, then maybe you should tell him to send it. I wouldn't give him a dime though and nothing more then a mailing address because this whole thing sounds pretty scamish to me. Once the bike is in your posession, then figure out if its worth the cash or not.

Man, don't even think about buying this bike, this is a SCAM!!! I got the same kind of deal for a Yamaha R1 once on Ebay, I almost fell for it. You can be sure the guy doesn't have the bike, and once you send your money by Western Union (Im sure he will ask transfer by Western Union), you will never hear from him again. When it is too good to be true, well it is just NOT true. Forget about it. There are 100s of scams like this on Ebay everyday. I have a Yamaha R1 2002, and I paid $6300 for it, with 3300 miles on it at a local dealership...I love this bike man, the Firebird seems to be so slow after a R1, not even funny.
Once more...DO NOT BUY THIS BIKE

And by the way, shipping a bike from Italy to US, in 4 days, will cost probably the $2800 he is asking for it...SCAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Don't be so naive 97rs

No, I agree sedoriku, but if this guy is claiming he will send the bike, at no cost to him, and that he can send the money after he decides if he wants the bike, tell him to put up or shut up. Sounds like a big scam to me, but put him in his place by saying, "Ok, send it".

he said he could get the bike and not have to pay ANYTHING until he saw it and inspected it. he wouldnt be gettting screwed out of any money by letting the guy send it to him for NOTHING and if he doesnt like it then having it shipped back for NOTHING, and plus if the guy ends up telling you that he wants you to pay for shipping back, keep the bike and keep the statement of him saying what he said and your at no fault.

I really doubt the guy will ship the bike and ask NOTHING untill 97rs inspects the bikes and makes sure he wants it. 97rs, are you positive that he will send you the bike before you pay for it?? It really seems to good to be true... By any ways, don't send him any money before you see the bike. This just sounds exactly like the scam I almost fell for... the guy was also abroad, was also claiming that he was on Square trade so I would get my money back if I wasn't satisfied... and same as you, he took the bike from US to a foreign country and realized that he couldn't register it...whatever?? He even sent me a copy of a certificate of registration for the bike...

yes, if this guy is telling the truth, he will send me the bike for free (he supposedly has a friend that works for fedex, so he gets a deal on the shipping) then if i like the bike and everything is good, i pay him. What i would not want to happen is have the bike sent to me and pay for it, then have the police recover it as a stolen bike. but this guy says it has a clear us title and i will have no trouble registering it in my name. The bike also has many extras and comes with the aftermarket and stock pipe, pegs, shifter, seat, and rear fender along with a riding jacket and helmet, so that confuses me as to how it could be stolen.
