It's really easy to find multiple pictures of the same motorcycle on the net. It's also really easy to fabriacte a wonderful story over the internet. I don't think I would worry so much about it being stolen, I'd question whether this guy even has the bike that he is trying to sell. I've heard stories on other messageboards, where they will see their very own bike, in pictures they've taken, for sale on Ebay by somebody else.

Try asking him for a phone number. I'd almost be willing to bet that once you act really serious with him, he'll ask you for your bank account number or some sort of personal information. I've had that happen before, that'd be the dead giveaway right there.

Yes, Im pretty sure that once he sees you are really interested, he will ask you for money. And try to call him, but I doubt he will ever give you his phone number. With only the aftermarket parts, the jacket and the helmet, you are already talking about more than $1500.... Then you have to add the transport....it is like he was giving away his bike. Where did you see this bike?? Was it on Ebay? Because everyday on Ebay you see pics of some bikes for sale for $3000, like brand new bike, worth usually at least $9000...too good to be true. Im a member of the R1forum, and everyday you see one of the member's bike pic on Ebay for sale...
Tell this guy that you have a friend or relative living next to him, in Italy I believe, so you would like him to go check out the bike for you, and that you need a phone number so your friend can reach him... Im pretty sure the seller will find some excuse and tells you that he doesn't want to do that...
