Its nice to see that they are finally making some progress. Hopefully both sides let this deal go through next week and there will be a season this year
Thank GOD! I don't know what I'd do with myself if I had to go another year without it!!!

Looking forward to seeing all of them in the ice again~!
It's about friggin time!
I've seen some of the changes to the rules. (coorect me if I'm wrong)
-No more center red line except for Icing calls. It's going to eliminate most Two Line Pass's.
-Icing Calls will be whistled automatically by the ref, not a defensive touch anymore.
-Smaller goalie pads.
-No more ties at the end of games. Either a 4 on 4, or a shootout.
We're gonna see some higher scoring games...YeeHaaa!
Do you know if those rules changes are actually going into affect? I have seen the list of proposed changes, but didn't know if anything was definetly getting changed.
I sure hope things like two line pass and maybe even offsides are changed because it would make the game much faster and more exciting. Its kind of funny how some of the rules would make pro ice hockey look similar to competetive roller hockey.

Man I can't wait until the season starts! It was so weird that there was no season this winter. I went to 6 AHL games throughout the year instead to try and fill the void. It'll definately be nice to have hockey back!

Not as long as baseball, well game wise at least

Sad, but so true. It really is dying off and they have to figure out a way to excite fans other than those who already understand the game.
I think the fighting is fine. Its part of the game and the history. Most of the people involved in fights are doing so to get their team pumped up or to get themselves more room to play. If some 6'3" 220lb guy just beat your *** you probably will think about giving him some room next time he is in the crease.

Maybe in Florida where the weather never hits freezing. But to call it a "Dying Sport" has a whole is IGNORANT. Maybe the NHL is in trouble in some Markets, but in Canada it is still king. Way more popular the Baseball or Basketball
Oh yeah, and this "Dying Sport" is played by far more people in far more countries world wide then American football ever will, so does that mean American Football is in more trouble?
