Do you think the punishment for the profanity Dale Earnhardt Junior used after his victory was sufficient, too harsh, or not harsh enough? (Droped the S-bomb)

Points should not be taken away for events that happen after a race.

I thought it was a bit harsh, maybe a much much bigger money fine. But points?

and who finds it offensive that a good old boy says sh|t, thats like being offended a bird flys ;)

i dont think NASCAR should fine him any points because what he said had no affect on the outcome of the race...i can understand a heftier monetary fine in place of taking away some points. i think NASCAR is becoming way to restrictive...but oh well, NASCAR will do what it takes to keep sponsors(thats what this is about really when you think about it).

FYI, Jr is an idiot, I have met him SEVERAL times. He is the kind of person who knows the rules, but either doesn't think first before he talks, or doesn't really care in the first place. With NASCAR wanting to bring this southern sport to the WORLD, things like this cannot go without punishment. He has to realize that the days of his "daddy" running around doing whatever he wanted are over.

Too harsh. Point deduction probably would have not happened to any other driver if they did the same thing. They just want a tighter points race, so this is what it came down to.

If you actually saw the "interview/comment" it was right after he won the race. I'm sure he was excited or whatever, and it probably just slipped out. If it comes down to the end and he ends up losing because of those 25 points can you imagine how it could blowup in nascar's face. But if he wins the championship, "it don't mean sh*t..."

                      NASCAR sucks.

3 hours of a bunch of redneck hicks turning left (cept for 2x a season) just doesn't excite me.

Back to topic...As for my vote, not harsh enough. NASCAR should petition for the FCC to go after him for $550,000 like they've done to Howard Stern. Perhaps make him run the next race with no brakes as well? After that they should fine Darryl Waltrip as well for indecency because of the suits he wears on the air on FOX.\

                      That is all
