• really bad night for a civic

my friend has a silver civic with some kinda acura engine swap. well the tubro is now on there also, he ran it and did like a 14.1 with 6 lbs of boost. he up'ed it to 8 lbs and he was going to run slicks. well on the way to the track the worst happened. we're not sure what it is yet since he's going to take the engine apart to find out, but something bad happened. smoke was coming from everywhere, probably pistions. so he didn't run all night and was pissed. so we're on our way home and don't you know that some idiot hit his car. now he has to get a new rear pass side quarter panel, tire, rim, axel, tail light, etc. and to make it better he has like a $3000 paint job. it just wasn't his night.

Thats ****ty, but I can't see the point in real expensive paint jobs, unless its not a street car. Was he opening it up? going WOT anytime?

Is it bad enough to total? Tell him to buy anything else but a civic.

You don't know these guys...Honda's are their life!
If the other person hit him, let their insurance adjust the price and fix it for him. Tell the insurance that it blew the engine too ;)

i know that 1st hand-my co-worker is all about his civic hatch. always telling me bout how he smoked some car or another. from killing 5.0 stangs to keeping up with a G35 when he had to put back his stock si motor(or some garbage like that) when he blew his B20?EK9? motor that had a T3 turbo or something. I just humor him and say, "wow thats really good"

Let him do what he wants if he really likes the car

Thats what happens when you put boost to an open deck block.

Honestly though, that had to be one of the worst nights for him.

he is just going to use the money and get all the replacement parts for the body, not paint them, and put the rest into the engine. and listen to hockeyman he met them when he was over one night. honda's are their lives. it's not his daily driver so the paint is really nice, kept in the garg.
