  • Guys on your own.... whats your insurance?

hey guys, looking up quotes. This is the first time I will fully have the car in my naem and on my own policy, I have always had my cars under my dad's name and under my parent's policy.

Just curious what you guys pay for 6 months, on your own personal policy, not on your parents.

with 100k/300k/100k coverage, and a $500 damage deductable, and a $1k comprehensive deductable.

I am at $716 per 6 months, this is with esurance.

What are you guys at? and with who?

          Play nice 2000v6bird!

1 month ago I was paying $3200 for the 2004 neon full coverage listed as primary driver and 1997 bird listed as weekend car full coverage.

I decided to yank the full coverage on the bird and go bare minimum because I barely drive it.

          Now, $2,200 per year.

i have the exact same coverage as you eric, probably higher deductibles, totally spotless record.

i pay ~600 per term (6 months). i paid for insurance (family rule) when it was on my dad's policy; now i have my own policy and it only went up by maybe $50, and that was with raising the deductibles from $100 to $500.

Ok, just to shame you all:

28 years old - 0 accidents - 2 tickets 10 years ago, let go with warning twice in past 4 years:
                              1986 Mazda B2000 - 8k annual mileage - Liability and Uninsured Motorist $209.67 every 6 months.
1998 v6 Pontiac Firebird - 6k annual mileage - Full liability, uninsured and physical damage (comp and collision $500 deductable) - 432.44 every 6 months.

                              6 month premium = $642.11
                              1 year premuim = $1284.22

At the end of every year they send me a "rebate" of anywhere from $50 - $120

With full coverage on the truck I was paying about $100 more a year, but with a $500 deductable and kbb on the truck at $700 I figured it isn't worth it.
