• hospital, break up, and life to **** in 12 hours

well today my cuz had another sesure (sp?) just found out he stop taking he meds b/c they was to expensive, poor guy. the sesures from few years droped his IQ he can't attend school and cant work any real tech jobs. and he can't get aid from anything. and the jobs he can get don't pay the bills....... he didn't go on SS last time cuase he wanted to work, now is going to be really hard for him to get SS or anything

then my g/f and i of 2.5 years break up, no fight or anything just talked and we both don't feel the same way anymore.

next the biggest mistake of my life was joing the Air force, i have missed being there for 3 close family members deaths, my own dog almost forgot who i was, and now this. no matter were i go im alone with no family within thousands of miles and only a phone to stay connected. I know we would still be together if i never would have joined I should have lissened to her dad

I wonder every day if the AF is worth it in the long run and whats to come, i would like to get out but im not sure about anything any more.

I know it's not gonna help right now, but break-ups happen. They just do. You DON'T know that you guys might've broken up if you were still at home.

Those people still would've died if you would've been at home.

        You have my sympathies.

It's all the test of time. You can say now that things would be better had you not enlisted, but can you say it with 100% assurance?

The family thing I can understand and I'm sorry for the losses, that's something I can't elaborate on. It was inevitable in the long run, just sucks you were not able to properly pay your respects.

I'm almost guessing this is entirely about your woman though, you have talked about being engaged. And now it's this.

Don't give up, and remember you are doing what you want to do and eventually there will be someone that understands that and has patience. Whether you can or even want to convince her that it's only a matter of time to make a better chance at life for you both or for your self, you have to remember that you have to look out for number one.....yourself.

Live your life and the way you want to live it, the rest of the puzzle will fall into place and bluer skies will emerge. I'm not sure of your exact age, but I'm sure that going into the military with a hopeful longterm relationship isn't right for anyone in this day and age. Nothing against you or the one you were with, but this era is a lot different then it used to be and even then it didn't work out 100% of the time.

Keep a positive outlook, what seems the worst now could one day be your best learning experience. Don't let anyone or anything stand in the way of your own beliefs, or you become a follower and not a leader. Do what you feel is right, I've read many posts about how proud you are, in the AF and in general, don't let something that isn't 100% stand in the way of your longterm goal.

Ultimately it is your decision, just don't let one down time dictate or change the rest of your life. It's not worth it in the long run, and hopefully it all works out for the best.

When you get out of the Air Force, you will be able to say that you were in the Air Force. You can say stuff like "When I was in Italy with the Air Force..." People like me will give you free fountain drinks at gas stations. Keep on going man, hook me up with your address over AIM or something. I can arrange for some baked goods.

                    a few close ones died.....

Those people who died would never hold anything against you, ever.... You were fighting for not only thier freedom, but everyone's freedom.... Thanks pal

Being sent out to places is the only reason I didn't join the AF.

I had to choose between being FREE and being a fighter pilot... the dream of my life.

                      I chose freedom.

**** happens, it's part of life. Pick yourself up out of the gutter and move on with things. Just remember this saying I always tell myself when things go sour. "Everything happens for a reason." It'll help you through a lot.

Viper, I'm really sorry to hear about your losses. It sucks that $hit like this happens, and I just wanted to let you know that I value the information and whatnot you provide on this board. (Even though you can't spell worth $hit), but it's funny, and people on this board will always know who you are. You may feel like you have no one right now, but you do have us (even though we are just words on a screen from 1000's of miles away). I hope the best for you.

Tough times in my life always offer an opportunity for learning.

Hang in there my friend in these tough times.

A old man once told me, "Tough times do not last, tough people do."
