    wtf? I just got 346 miles to a tank in my firebird!!!

    For some reason i decided to put premium in it, since around here it's like a 2 cent difference. So i wanted to see what kinda mileage i got from this tank, so i ran it til the gas light came on....

    346 MILES!! normally i'd just barely get over 300. this time i was driving it just as hard, if not harder.


    what does everyone else average or am i freaking over nothing?

          I've gotten over 400 to the tank before but I took that as I was not driving hard enough. witht he resistor mod I get about 285-300 to the tank the way I drive now. but I am not sure exactly how much is in my tank when I fill it up. the sending unit is messed up and reads funny. when I filled it up when the needle was E I only put like 14.2 gallons in it.

              from full to 1/4 tank is about 220 miles for me...

                  when I'm coming back from school, mostly highway, I get over 30 so I've seen the trip meter go over 400 miles before.

                    I get 14.5 to 15 mpg in CRAPPY southern california traffic. Comes out to around 200 a tank, because I generally fill 12.5 to 13 gallons.

                    Those who get 400 miles to a tank must not have many stop lights or signs [img]smile.gif[/img]

                      When I took 100% Highway trips - as in gas up at an exit, get on the highway, gas up at another exit - I would get 32-33 mpg.

                      The most I ever filled my tank with was 14.2 gallons though. Very sensitive and broken meter [img]tongue.gif[/img]

                      Not that the Z28's is any better...I'll have half a tank at 200 miles and empty-ish at 270.

                      (I know the F's gas "gage" sucks)

                          When i drive all cities i ALLWAYS break 300 miles...i have never had to fill up before 300, and when i drive all freeway i allways get over 450.
                          2002 M5 camaro- VTR CAI, custom cat-back exhaust, battery compacitor, pullie, lowering springs, 32mm sway bar, cross-drilled slotted rotars. 1-10\" L7 in cubby.

                              And that's a 50%/50% mix of city/highway.
