My favorite part about the hurricane season- you get to watch the idiots on the weather channel.

I was listening to a automated weather report on there yesterday. "Saturday - windy with rain. Chance of rain on Sunday. Windy with rain on Monday..."

I'm trying to watch how my hometown Fort Pierce gets pelted and I dont get local news up here. Last night on the weather channel some guy said "This is the eye wall and thats where most of the....... deaths occur" He'll probably get chewed out by somebody

hehe for news info I try and go to http://www.cbs4.com/ Its a south florida channel, that has Brian Norcross as their weatherman. I really don't trust, central florida weathermen. This guy is popular enough they have made more then one movie about him, he understands building codes and explains the forces of the wind. He talks about and explains how to secure your house during a storm. Not sure people realize it but there are better ways to secure your house, while doing less noticeable, permanent damage to your house.

Know what the weatherman did here during charley? "Its really really windy out here, I can barely stand, if I squat down... and lower my center of gravity, I don't feel like I am going to get knocked over"

I agree - Bryan Norcross is the guy my wife and I have been watching - he's much more useful than all the other folks.

i was watching the streaming audio on cbs4.com and the dude had sheets of metal flying past him while reporting.

back home in fort pierce its really bad, they've been without power since this morning and trees are flying, shingles are coming off the roof.. and it hasn't even got the hard part yet

My wife and I had considered buying a beach house in Fort Pierce earlier this year - glad we did not now.

I saw the guy on WFOR. He was OK, not like the Weather Channel dork.
