'05 GTOs have hood scoops and a better powerplant.

I'd stick with an LS1 F-body, or I'd dream for an '03 Cobra at that price range.

Sorry its a typo, I meant '04...(stupid fat fingers and laptop)

If a '05 was availible for under $25k, I'd get a cyclone grey one.

Amen to that brother! I love those little guys. I wish we could get them here. I guess the only way I'll get to drive one, is to get stationed in Europe. Such a sexy car

Both sides have arguments, thats the cobra owner comebacks. Give me a damn Cobra with boost anyday over an LS1.

I won't win this arguement since it is an f-body site. :D To each their own.

cobra is a dyno queen, they are really heavy, the independent rear suspension alone adds something like 250lbs to the overall weight

You are all wrong. Buy a c4 zr-1. I absolutely love those. You wont break $15 buying the car so you can mod the entire car big time still have tons of maintenence money left over and youre surrounded by fiberglass (vettes=lightweight) And even if you are loosing to any cobras on the strip (which wont happen) you can always back yourself up by taking it to any race track. You will kill every mustang on the track. And on top of everything else you will be living the dream of every person on this site. You will be a corvette oowner.
There is fast, too fast, and way too fast. Way too fast is almost fast enough.

been there done that, it'll be several more cars before i go back to a 'vette ;)

so many cars in that range...i dont think i could make up my mind...under 20 grand I'd probably get a 2000 dually 6.0 silverado & put a blower or sts turbo on it...the turbo diesel would probably be a better choice but i know my way around the ls1 style motors a little better so would feel more comfortable modding it...20-25 grand it would be a toss up between a 01-02 Y-body & a stripper evo.

If a person had $25,000 you could buy a Ferrari from the 80's. They almost always have low mileage and well taken care of. It would diffently be a rarity. Its just a thought though

If it was a new car I I'd like to get a Solstice. I'm not a huge fan of the 2.4 that it has under the hood (at least it's making 170 hp I guess), but man, the lines on that car are amazing. Great looking car. At least Pontiac is taking a step in the right direction.

If it were used, I'd definately drop 20 grand on a mint 77-81 S/E TA. Amazing cars. Just can't get that feeling from anywhere else sitting behind the wheel of a 2nd gen S/E TA, listening to the beefy 400 rev, and watching the shaker hood scoop twitch every time you hit the gas... *drools*

Yeah the solstice seems to be a bargain for decent performance and good looks
