You better call Audi and let them know that diesels are for trucks and commuter cars only.
They prabobly did that to get more public attention and show that their engineers are capable of turning a diesel into race car, which is an accomplishment. Not because a diesel is a better choice.
Why is this even an issue? Diesel=low hp, big torque, low redline. How is that suitable for a sports car? Many of the slowest production cars are diesels. I think the slowest being the hummer h1 alpha with the duramax.

I could care less because I have a fast car AND a fast truck...you have what?
you obviously care to keep making atempts to insult me. you have a lightning and a Z28, WOW!!! </font>[/QUOTE]I am not insulting you...you are just taking it that way. If you think I am, I apologize.

Yup..... like a stock V6 F-body.... I'd bet a round of beers my stock Cummins would leave one in a cloud of black smoke.
To odw777:
Don't be stereotypical of modern diesels. Sure diesels were clunky slow and weak 10+ years ago, but things have changed. The worlds fastest pickup is not a Ford Lightning, is not a Dodge SRT-10... it is a twin-turbo Cummins diesel truck.
The right programming, an exhaust and some sort of traction device will launch any of the big 3's modern diesels into the 13's at over 100mph trap speeds. Most will run mid to low 15's stock. And this is in a 6500+lb truck!!!
So the next time some redneck in a big loud diesel pulls up next to you and spools the turbo, you might have a suprise when the light turns green and all you see is a faint set of tail lights through a black cloud of smoke.
In the aspect of topspeed maybe...but not even in the game in the 1/4.
My brother has a 2003 F350 turbo diesel...he thought the same thing about having some incredible topend...even talked smack about how it would stay with my Lightning from a roll. I have been in it many times...it does run ok...but, I left him like he pulled the emergency brake from a 60 mph roll.
His truck might run 16's...
Diesels are bad, powerful and can easily be made to be badass...but even diesel guys need to pick the fights they can win.
I would hardly pass that truck off as everyday, every corner.
I have also had my *** handed to me at the track by big ole' diesels.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
