I know they came back out in '04. From what I've read the '04's was a bad year to have, why is that? I know usually the first year of a car will have its bugs, but what's the gripes with an '04 GTO? I read somewhere is also has less horsepower than the later years. Whats the deal with these cars? Since I saw one last night I've been reading about them. They're freaking awesome!

well, they probably say its bad to have and it is less powerful because the first year, it had the LS1 but then in 05-07, it has the LS2, a more powerful motor.

They had 350hp instead of 400hp. They didn't have the hood scoop, and had two pretty small exhaust tips on one side through one muffler. Very bland looking if you ask me, great sleeper I guess...97 Camaro rs 3.8
Flowmaster catback
High flow cat

yeah the only difference between the 04 and 05 is ls1 vs ls2, 04 had true duels that exited on the same side, 05 has true duels that exit on both sides, same exhaust just different pipe bending, different hood, minor front and rear facia changes.RedlineVSix

I like it, nice cars just a bit more then I want to spend on a car...
but honestly I think the '04s get a bad wrap... I know it only has "350 hp" BUt 350 hp is, well uhm 350 hp. Decent number. And we all know the ls1 has a slight aftermarket for it out there.
seems like low mileage ones are getting in the low $20k even high $18-19k for low mileage ones and thats not a bad deal since its only 2 years old.
Guess its the whole "its not the best of the model so its crap"
Ex... I see people now say they wouldn't own a C5 vette unless it was at least a z06. Wtf? I drove a stock '01 to a 13.2@109, with a 2.3 60' with better tires I think I would have dipped into the 12s, in a stock C5. But apparently thats crap?
Same way the v6 f-body gets ragged on... I wonder how well it would have sold if it was just a new model and not associated with a muscle car.
T-tops, Front engine RWD, 200 hp, manual tranny mid 15s stock.
Now compare that to more expensive and slower cars like civics, celicas, sentra, eclipse, etc...-Eric
2000 NBM V6 Camaro 5-speed T-top converted
14.467@95.45mph $0 in mods
The member formerly known as MustangEater8251

by DongrossmdI’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...4 weeks ago
