im with 97,

my car will be paid off in 18 mothst -2 years, the only new car on the market i would drive are C6, Vipers. withc neather one i can get lol. (maybe a vary vary base modle C6 lol)

so if GM does come out with a new camaro in 2007 i will perorder the beotch, assuming i liike it nad featuers it has..

other wise im goign to end up buying a used Z06 i figure if every loan i have is paid off i have (3 loans) that about 550 car payment i can make and still be right were im at right now (i pay 133 for insurance already for the FIAT tipo (lib only) :eek: so thats what im going to work with.

if i deploy agian those loans will be paid off much sooner

DARK SDE '02--you have a 2002, what are you even thinking of buying a new car for? Is your domestic so crappy that it falls apart after two years and you have to buy a new car? Keep your car for at LEAST three more years and see what's available in the market then. Even a worthless domestic is good for five years.

As far as the import scene--blame GM. Its no wonder everyone is buying imported. I have several coworkers who are into performance cars... one has an EVO, one has a WRX, one has a 350Z, all except the Z are quite heavily modified and run in the 12's/13's while able to rip an F-Body a new ******* on the autocross track or road course.

The concept of a free market economy is really very simple. If GM manufactures crap, you buy something else. Eventually GM will realize that high performance is not passe and it will start producing affordable performance cars again. Until then we'll just have to buy whatever is available regardless of which continent it comes from. Those of you who blindly buy GM and would never consider an alternative are brainwashed morons. They say jump you say how high--you're their perfect customer. :rolleyes:

ok well gm is my make as far as old cars go and f-bodies form 67-02...HOWEVER i am a loyal dodge fan if i had to buy a new car..we bought an 03 ram 1500 its awesome and ha smore power than any truck we test drove..and lets face it gm and fords truck sucks anyway..and responding to the would i drive an import..yes but for one reason only..as a beater car..i had a 97 accord i drove around while i was saving money for my bird/camaro ..then of course i wrecked it cuz im an idiot and where did all that hard earned cash go?..thats right paying off my wreck but as luck would have it i got enough money to buy my bird

Unless something happens to the bird my next car is either going to be an awd car or a puckup/jeep. I need something to drive in the winter. I see that used WRX's are getting much more affordiable and I have always wanted one. And I think the ranger's are nice. And Wrangler's have always apealed to me.

The irony here is most GM cars are built in Mexico.

To tell you the truth I really dont see any imports out there that look as good as my firebird (to me, anyways).

I like some imports but I probably wouldnt buy em.

If i had the money to buy another car it would probably be either a Grand Prix GTP coupe or a Jeep Rubicon (started to like Jeeps since my ex had a Freedom edition wrangler). I need a winter/snow car anyways and I think the jeep would be something to get.

I never really thought about it but I guess i am more of a domestic person.

I'd love to drive a 350Z/G35. C&D tested several cars, and they had a 350Z vert. Ran a 14.1 even with the extra 2-300 lbs put on it. I don't know where you guys get off saying it's a high 14 second car. I've met up with one driven by an old guy and tried to keep up with him. I was flooing it and he was pushing the gas leisurely and still walking me inch by inch. 287HP out of their 3.5 &gt; 200HP out of our 3.8.

EVO's are bad*ss, STI's/WRX's are bad*ss, RX-8's are bad****. GM needs to get their sh*t together soon and put out some punchy 4 bangers to get some market share away from the foriegn brands.

It is kinda strange though....I live in Alabama, and we have a Honda plant and a Mercades plant, and everything in my car says made in Canada. I guess Kyle's mom said it best in the South Park movie: "Blame Canada!" lol
