  • Anybody write poetry?

Extremely bored, just wondering if anybody writes poetry here. I really don't read any or like it, but sometimes i just get the feeling and the wording to write one. So if you got a favorite, post it up + explain it if you'd like.

    Mine, just written tonight.

    Standing outside the house,
you look up to see a light on in the room.
You run upstairs and open the door,
    but the lights are off.
Flip the switch, turn the knob,
    it just stays dark.
    You leave the house,
turn around to give a final look,
and there it is, the light on again...

It basically explains the connection felt between a girl from afar. Me and her could flirt non-stop on the phone or whatever, but whenever I'm actually with her, she is not the same. /of talking to her.

I do. I've been writing off an on since I high school. I've wrote somewhere around 30 poems now. Most of mine are from relationship problems too.
I've got a couple favorites from the ones I've wrote, but I guess I'll just share one of them. This one has the most meaning to me:

    Shadow
It’s only a shadow, it’s always been there
Whether you know it, or whether you care
You take it for granted, and you trample it down
“It hasn’t got feeling”, so you just let it drown
It’s there when you need it, when you need a friend
But you never take notice; it’s there till the end
You don’t think much of it, and very few have
They all take advantage, and walk their own path
Nobody questions it, they’ve always had one
So stomp on your shadow, it looks like it’s fun
Shadows feel indifferent, and sometimes they feel down
Because of how they’re treated like they shouldn’t be around
You have your very own like everyone you know
So I won’t let you to treat me like I’m just your shadow
    ~Chris

I don't think there's a whole lot of hidden meaning there. Just alot of frustration with a one sided relationship.

wow i can relate to that. I know from experience this one girl was a dumb***** when i would talk to her in person but really cool over the phone and on internet
