Me and my friend have our own detailing business which often allowes us to drive some nice cars. I think 2day was probably the best though. We had a 2000 5 speed Porsche Boxter in out possesion for 4 hours. It wasnt as fast as i thought but being that it was a 5 speed and i dont get to drive stick very often i had some great fun. just takin that baby out on to the main road and ripping through gears at redline all the way up to 5th just felt amazing...i want a stick so bad now [img]smile.gif[/img]

No way dude, i agree with viper on that one. Maybe its your lack of experience or maturity, but unless you were given permission to take the care out and "rip through the gears", that is just disrepectful and risky. What if you would have misshifted and blown his engine or lost control and wrecked? You probably wouldnt think it was so cool then. I work for a dealership and i detail, and we would never take clients cars out and mess around, theres liability issues that go along with it. Go ahead and do your thing, but just keep that in mind the next time you decide to go joyriding in a clients car.Originally posted by fabolous24:

Dude, I worked at a dealership with over 1200 cars and trucks. I drove **** ranging from 1988 Ford Taurses with no door handles on the inside to 1981 Turbo Trans Ams in need of restoration to Porsche Boxster S's to brand new Z06 Vettes. Not ONCE did I hammer on them for fun. The other guys I worked with, never wore their seatbelts because they figured they'd never need them. Me? I always wore mine. Did that make me a pussy? I was 16 once, and i would NOT have done that. Hell, when friends of mine trade cars with me for occasions like inspection or something like that, and their cars are fast (Lot of my friends have real fast cars), i still dont get on them.
friend of mine did that once. borred my car for the weekend (my s-10 when i had it) then i found out he was doin burnouts and ****, so he never has driven or touched one of my cars again.Comment

I'd say you are an immature moron. Actually, you pretty much admitted that your an immature little child because no one with any sort of brains would attempt a stunt as you say you did because the consequences are rather great.
Who in their right mind would allow two children to pick up a Porsche and detail it? Perhaps it is just me but it would seem highly unlikely that the owner of this vehicle would be so free with allowing you to drive this car. I know I would not trust a little 16yr old boy with my vehicle, let alone if that vehicle was a newer Porsche!Comment

how many miles was on the car?, theres a break-in period for every car THAT MUST BE FOLLOWED or they void the warrenty, you could have voided the oweners warrenty....Originally posted by fabolous24:

If it was my car, i just rebiult my motor. you "RIPING" the gears would have damaged it. as in piston rings not seating. or worse. the revlimiter on my car 7200 RPM, my msd stops it at 6500 right now till the motor is ready for it, and the motor has not seen over 6000 yet...
BTW just s you know new cars store the last 10 highest RPM and Speed in the PCM for xx amount of time and tells how many hours ago it happened, there for pointing to youwww.turbov6camaro.com
