I don't really understand the Mustang hatred

A few nights ago I took my car over to where a few LS1's hang out and bs, and there were a few Mustangs up there. 2 V6's, a few GT's, an 03 Cobra, and a SC Saleen Mustang. We met all of them and ended up hanging out for the past couple of nights/mornings. I never really understood the relationship between the f-body and mustang. Friendly rivalry is always good, but I've been seeing so much hatred on here and other boards between Ford and GM. The guys were cool to hang out with, even the 03 Cobra guy. They complimented us on our cars and we did the same for them. Maybe there will be a new car group of domestic muscle in this area soon...

There's always a rivalry, the two cars have gone head-to-head since 1967. I don't have any hatred for 'stang's, but i do go on full alert whenever i see one. a mainly domestic club is forming near me, so it'll be united front against ricers.

i dont have hatred either. i was drivin my friends LT1 yesterday, and a mustang GT was followin me revvin and stuff. i pulled onto a 2 lane rd., we went through a few gears just messin around, and stopped at a light. i complimented him on the car, sounded good, was pretty quick. he thanked me, then we raced. i smoked the crap out of him, but it was still a nice car. no hate, just a little fun.

I don't hate mustangs. I just make fun of the ponies ;) However they aren't bad cars and have one of the best sounding exhausts I've ever heard.

No hatred here against Mustangs. My best friend has an '02 Mustang, we always ride together. Thinking of starting a domestic club at my school, all the other people drive ricers.

I really don't think it is hatred. I think it is a friendly rivalry. I talk bad about Mustangs all the time but it is all good natured.

Sort of like the Cardinals-Cubs rivalry. As a Cardinals fan I hate the Cubs. However, if the Cubs made the World Series I would root for them.

The hatred is created by the enthusiast magazines... they start all the crap by pitting cars against each other. I see it ALL THE TIME in the Mustang mags AND the GM mags.

I dont hate mustangs at all, in fact my father has a 1996 Black mustang cobra conv. with only 45,000 miles, i love that car, but i also love my fbody!
