  • The curse continues... another one bites the dust

Well looks like I get to add to the ranks of those who've wrecked their babies. I just got back from the hospital and I'm pretty high on perkaset right now so sorry if this doesn't make much sense.

I took a right onto a main road (4 lanes and 1 turning lane), with completely open 2 lanes my way and the 2 opposing lanes of traffic were pretty much filled. I gun it in 2nd, shift into 3rd going about 50 (in a 45), about to put it in 4th when I see this Nissan quest pull out in front of me. Apparently two people let her out and she felt that was good enough to not look in the other 2 lanes of on coming traffic, which I happened to be occupying. So, me going about 45 now (passed a cop, so I slowed down) see this car dart out in front of me with the driver looking the OTHER way, lock my brakes up and honk the horn. What does the stupid ***** do? BRAKE. So I had no where to go except for her ****ing side.

Thanks to mac headers, gutted cat, and un plated borla, everyone came running over saying I was flying, spinning my tires around the corner and other stupid bull****.

Now for the painful part: the pics. Taken by a camera phone, so quality is kinda bad but it'll work..

Man that sucks, looks like your lucky nothing happened to you though. Any word if they're insurance is gonna cover it? That's some bs, just because you have loud exhaust on a sports car people are going to assume it's your fault in a crash.

Ohh damn another crash this is getting weird.

Just happened today, I called the insurance company and they're dealing with it..hopefully I'll hear about it tomorrow. I was the worst of the 3, because all of her glass flew into me (since my top was down).. I've got a ton of cuts and scratches.

The cop was a dick and said it was a mutual accident, and gave me a careless and reckless ticket. My father, whos been in law enforcement for 20+ years and has been a chief in 4 places said its too big of a ticket, and it'll never hold up in court. I'm going to be contacting a laywer tomorrow, I'm sure as hell going to be sueing. Hitting these stupid people in the pocket is the only thing that effects them.. maybe she'll learn not to drive without a license this time.

Right now all I can do is pray the car wont be totalled. This car was my baby, and theres no way in hell I'll be able to break even on it...

            Sorry to hear man :(

People are idiots when it comes to loud cars. I get the "Slow down!!" yell all the time, they get the finger, a "**** YOU", and a redline. How's the engine look? I hope its fixable.

It's hard looking at the pics because I really like my car and it would be so ****ed up if that happened to me.

At least you messed up their car pretty good. Did their car almost flip over once you hit it? If you were in a del sol, a civic, or some other light car, it might have been much worse.

The engine was fine...the only damage that I could see was the radiator and CAI.. the engine ran (I had to shut it off when I stopped) the hood took most of the damage.

I'm not sure what happened. When we hit all I saw was white from the airbag, then afterwards all I saw was red from my anger. I managed to throw their car a few feet down a hill into a yard though. I'm still amazed what little damage my car got from looking at theirs.

I've found over the years that F-bodies are amazingly strong. My 3.4 got rearended by somebody going 25-30 mph and all i had to do was get a new rear bumper. Its good your ok though man, i gotta quote it from another accident thread. Cars are replacable, you are not.

Well the fact that you are 17 and you were driving a sports car automaticly makes it your fault in the eyes of society. I know its not fair man and it sucks *** but it's a necessary evil of owning one of these cars especially at a young age. Did you get any citations for causing the accident or what all happend?
