anybody watch the world news on CNN tonight?

they had a pretty good bush flip-flop (er, i mean outright lie) about the job situation. His people predicted that 250000 jobs would be created by this point in time, and he said that they were well on track. Then there was a good long analysis of the quality of jobs being created, and they were nowhere near as high paying as the ones lost when the economy went south.

My uncle had a discussion with me, and he said that the president doesn't have control over the economy. But this isn't true, the president makes policy decisions that affect everything from minimum wage to tariffs. And yes, I know that most of those decisions first pass through congress, but the president has more power in the process than any other single man because he can veto it or sign it into law, and Kerry would have vetoed a LOT of the environmental law rollbacks that the GOP controlled congress has passed in the past four years.

Afghanistan we don't know too much about, my one qualm with that operation is that Bin Laden, the bastard of 9/11, still hasn't been apprehended and brought to justice. This tells me that the administration isn't using enough of its resources to hunt that pig fcuker down and kill him. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, and it was documented when Rumsfeld, on 9/12, said that it would be a good idea to use 9/11 as an excuse to go into iraq. American intelligence is as good as any that has existed in the history of the world, and it would not be hard for a division with virtually unlimited resources to plant false WMD evidence, especially in a world of alliances in which the allies' intelligence network is so interconnected.
dude CNN is lying to you </font>
uhuh, sorry CNN is in my opinion </font>
It is never going to be str8 bs... apparently it does have a bias against bush, but look: people have biases. It's human nature, it helps us keep our opinions in order. It is perfectly healthy to have a bias, and apparently most of the ones on this board are republican. That's fine, but it doesn't mean that when someone presents an argument against yours that it should automatically be dismissed just because it doesnt suit your beliefs, that person can have a completely logical and factual position.

Bias this, bias that, it's all about the same when you look at it objectively: 80% factual, or if it's the daily show, (most liberal news on tv) then it will be 90% factual.

I disagree, that is the picture that K. Rove wants to paint and he is very good at it. I think Kerry is straighter than Bush because bush has a hidden agenda that he doesn't tell anyone about. It's the same as the rest of the radical GOP segment that has taken over congress, you know, the part that got rid of our environmental protection laws? Hastert, DeLay, Cheney, Bush... they don't have the same views as the rest of the party as far as I can tell because they are far more conservative. Once again, Kerry is just about Republican he's so conservative so I think he'd be a good choice for pres no matter how much you like him.

Another point, you're supposed to vote for who will do BETTEr, not who you LIKE more. You only see the charisma when you watch the candidates giving speeches, Machiavelli, post up that site you were talking about earlier or scan that document or whatever it was. That will give us a great set of the values that Kerry stands for, much better than his speechwriters ever will.

The speeches are just rhetoric, they have no meaning at all and no relevance when it ocmes to predicting what a candidate will do in office. We already know what Bush will do- Mess up the economy, destroy the environment, and start wars that we can't win while he ignores the real goal that will benefit his electorate.

man it pains me to hear you say that... how could you think that a radical conservative suits your needs more than a moderate one who is running in the constraints of your party?

o' ok. when it comes to kerry and bush, i choose bush because i feel safer with bush and i feel like kerry is dishonest and misleading. besides, the country isnt going down hill so i think we should let bush have 4 more to continue with his plains. if we are ****ed in the end. we know i was wrong :D besides, if kerry wins, then it will be really hard for hillary to be the democrate come 2008.

I think bush has already steered this country to rock bottom, that's why we're not going downhill lol. The economy might be picking up, because of Greenspan, but it's still @$*@ed compared to 4 years ago. I wish clinton was running... But yeah, on the hillary in '08 thing. I am going to vote kerry and hope McCain runs in '08.. Like Kerry says: Like father, like son. 4 years and you're done. There just isn't anybody worse than a neoconservative bigot who destroys the environment and doesn't accomplish the goals that are important to America: I.e. Osama Bin Laden.
