It cost me a staggering $4000 bucks. I coulda put twin turbos on the maro for that, but I think they eyes are more usefull later in life.

I had to go to a 1 hour consultation exam, and the then there was the surgery itself.

I was at the docs office for about 90 minutes total. THey had to give me medicine and special eye drops, then let them take effect. That took about 45 minutes. THen they had to take some measurments with a special machine. That was another 20 minutes.

The surgery itself was only about 7 minutes per eye. The laser was only on my eye for 40 seconds per eye. There was a quick debrief and i was on my way home.

How much did it cost you?

I wear glasses all the time. I used to wear contacts but it keeps building up protien and it hurts my eyes. I've been meaning to get one too.

But I hate the idea of someone poking my eyes. Gosh, your eyes are like the only exposed internal flesh in your body. Imagine touching it and all. (((Squivering)))

Anyway, that's awesome. I;ll wait and look around for discounts. Sometimes they have one for $395 per eye. Hmm, I got 395 right now maybe I should have one done and get the other one later. LOL

LASIK cost $3800 a few years ago from the best eye surgeon on the area.

The procedure then was that they cut an incomplete circle around the pupil. Then the circular flap is lifted up. Next, a laser reshapes the eye under the flap based upon a map they made of the shape of the eye. Then the flap is put back down. It heals almost immediately.

The procedures and mapping have become even more advanced in the past couple of years.

I had to wear contacts of glasses all the time prior to LASIK. Protein build-up was a big problem for me.

Surfing and swimming are so much better now.

"Where's my board? I can't see it." WHAM! "Oh there it is, hitting me on the head again."

I want to get laser surgery sooooo bad!!! I don't know the number, but I can't even see the big E on the eye exam chart!!

I can't get it though. I'm only 20, and the doctor said I have to wait till I'm like 24 or whatever to make sure my eyes don't develop anymore. I've had the same damn prescription for years now, and I know I'm totally done with puberty....WTF???

I am only 21. They told me I had to wait untill I was 24, and I told them to shove it up thier asses.

I needed the surgery to get a flight slot in Marine corps flight school.

IF they screw it up, they do it again till they get it right. My eyeballs are under "warranty". (hehe)

That is why PRK is waaaay better than LASIK.

Yeah, but to get warranty service, you've got to package up and send your eyeballs to some place in Podunk, Iowa.

I went to the eye doc today. I have 20/40 right now. I used to have 20/300. He said it should be at 20/15 in about a month.
