• Ways i have changed my life since my death.

This is REALLY long. It was a page and half in word pefect, read it if you get a chance, i just posted it here cause i said i would. I will post pics of my accident and what not on my actually on year which is on 3-18.

A lot of people say well there goes another year of my life where I have accomplished absolutely nothing. Well it has been a year since my accident and I am very happy to say that I have accomplished a tone in this year. In fact I think I have accomplished more in this single year of my life than I have in any other 3. When I woke up from my accident and I saw how much pain I had cause all those that loved me and how much everyone had gone through I wanted to make myself believe that I was more worthy of what they had just endured...and here is some of what I have done over the last 52 weeks to live up to that.
1)I dropped my body weight from 250 down to 180. That is a loss of 70 pounds. That means that I lost 28% of my body weight, not body fat...weight. There is 1/4 less Tim Clancy walking around these days. I have also lost more than 75% of my total body fat. On the body mass index scale I went down from bordering on un-healthfully obese to average. Hy pant size has gone down from wearing a size 38 with no need for a belt to wearing a size 34 needing a belt to keep them from falling off of me...size 33s and 32s have tinny pockets and can't fit my giant key chain in them. Some might say this is just for me, yes it is for me, but it is also for all those that I love. Cause being that big, would have eventually started to take its tole on my body and now I have gotten myself to a healthy level, and to a place in my life where I take very good care of myself on a daily basis.
2)Had my first two girl friends. Learned more from these relationships then I can write down.
3)Forged a real relationship that I will be able to carry for a life time with my brother. I know actually feel like he is my friends, as apposed to just a family member. Am his best man at his up coming weeding and should be moving in with him when he gets married, at a very low rent.
4)Started to take school seriously for the first time in my life. Which really sucks. Because of my accident I am significancy stupider than I used to be and I need to study about 10x harder than I used to in order to pull grades, but now at least I know I am trying my hardest. And I am pulling my GPA up. To give you an Idea I had a 2.4 in highschool and I had a 3.6 last semester in college.
5)Actually started to Mod the Camaro. She has a sick system in her now, and intake, battery compacitor, tb spacer, pullie, custom boxes on the way, panhard bar(thanks to good friend Melissa), lowering springs, sway bar, and some other tricks up my sleeve.
6)Forged a relationship with my parents that is out of this world. They help me like there is no tomorrow. It is disgusting to think that I could have had this all my life with them and I am just now starting to, but better than nothing. Like when I broke up with my girlfriend the first person that was there for me weren't my boys, it was my Dad, there to talk to me and tell me exactly what I needed to hear. And then my Mom is just hands down my best friend now, so it is a lot of fun. I am so fortunate to have my mom as my best friend and my Dad there as a friend that I can talk to about anything and as someone that I can look up to and honestly say that I would be lucky to be half the man that he is one day.
7)Closer to god, but that goes without saying...
8)My old fastest mile time used to be like 16 minutes, and now thanks to not being so fat and lazy I got it down to a 7 minute mile.
9)Never really used to care about looks, just kind of walked around as a slob. But once I hit 190 I went out and bought myself some nice 7 jeans and I actually take price in my appearance now.
10)Stopped doing a lot of the old stuff that I used to do that I would get in trouble for...live by a new modow, if you can’t tell your parents, there must be something wrong with it. That goes to say that there is nothing that I do now a days that I will not tell my parents. Keeping in mind that my parents are reasonable creatures.
11)Started doing a lot of house work. I try to take at least an hour out of my day to help my Mom and Dad with house work that I otherwise wouldn’t have done. I always take care of my room and what not. But I will say detail their cars, or clean the kitchen, put away laundry, get stuff I know that they will need soon...when I had my license take their cars to get gas...that kind of stuff.
12)Began taking my life a lot more seriously and hence cut a lot of my friends that were bad influences either out of just keep them kind of on the side and are no longer major players cause I have realized that there is something special planned for me and certain people aren’t going to help me get there.
13)Parents go up to our mountain house every weekend pretty much and I part probably 4 nights a week so I NEVER used to go, that and the fact that I used to work 50 hours a week. But now I quit my job and ever once and while I take a weekend off from my friends and just go up and spend time with my parents cause even though I could be with my friends I know it makes the parents happy.
14)Stopped irresponsible street racing. DUH!
15)Never did drugs anyways, or had sex or did any of that crap anyways so didn’t need to cut any of that stuff out fo my life in order to make it a more righteous one.
16)Almost no matter how much bad stuff is going on in my life I can just focus on at least one good thing and make myself happy. I never let myself go a full day being sad. I don’t have bad days anymore..I have found by making everyone’s lives around me better, and easier and happier that it has in turn made me a happier person and therefore no matter how much is going wrong including the day my best friend stabbed me in the back, or the girl I was in love with did the same...I still didn’t allow myself to dwell on it. I have been able to acquire the skill of not letting myself stay unhappy, sure I am sad about that situation, but I am not an unhappy person.
The list continues on, but as you can see I really switched a lot of the stuff in my life around. Some people might say for the better, some people might say for the worse, some people might say I am now an *** kisser, I would say I am now just a more loving son that shows his parents the appreciations that they deserve. I am sure if you don’t know me you probably see me as a butt kisser with glasses after reading this...but if you do know me your jaw is on the ground and you are thinking to yourself....TIM DOES THIS STUFF!? But anyways, I just wanted people to know that some good does come out of bad situations. I believe that this accident was the best thing that ever happened to me even if it meant scars, a coma, a month in the hospital, 3 in rehap, a year of nerve surges, a year of fighting the DMV, still not having my license. This is simply the best thing that could have happened to me because of how much better of a person it has made me and how much happier of a person I am on a day to day basis for it.

Your lucky man. Glad to see your trying to make your life better. Good job on the past year, and good luck on the future years to come. Any idea when you'll be getting your liscence back? And is this the same car you wrecked in?

That was nice Tim. Glad to see all's going good and whatnot. Keep up the work, taking one day at a time. Remember though, there will always be good days AND bad days.

I, myself, like quotes.

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us."
-E. M. Forster

"Life becomes harder for us when we live for others, but it also becomes richer and happier."
-Albert Schweitzer

Tim, that's awesome. It's great to hear how you've develop a great relationship with your parents and brother. And God.

You're right about so-called friends. I don't have them anymore. Just my wife, brother, sister and parents are my friends. I really don't need the bad influence.

One thing I did early in my life, I stopped saying all the bad words. Got closer to God and treated all people the way I wanted to be treated.

I don't street race anymore either. But I still need to work on my temtation though, especially when I get cut off by other drivers.

Keep it up and never stop improving yourself. You know it's very easy to mess up your life, and you do have to work even harder to do what is right. Circumstances around you will not change, but you can certainly change yourself, I always say.

Sorry to be the bad influence, but we will be racing once you get your license LOL

And then you will take me for a ride in your dad's C6 :D If you don't, I'll steal it! I know where you live! lol

And you forgot the "e" on applause, Matt. ;)

The best advice I have heard on this message board thus far, follow and trust in GOD and it will always end up for the better, even if you realize it or not......
