          Infernal,

Honestly, would you want a life that was all roses and perfect? I personally wouldn't. Of course, I'm not going through many of the problems you're facing and fighting and I wish you the best in what could possibly be the worst part of your life. It'll only get worse if you give up, keep fighting. You're not perfect, none of us are. Life is gonna suck sometimes, but don't focus on the failures. The things that really caught my attention were your successes, not the failures. If you did it once you can do it again. Just don't be a loser and give up! ;)

I have heard things like this for years. Infernal, I DO KNOW what you are going thru. It is hard for someone to understand what someone is going thru without seeing it thru that person's eyes. They can say "Keep fighting", or "Don't give up"; yet they don't completely understand. They don't know what it is like to stare at a blank wall, wondering when something will go right, they don't understand what it like to watch everything you work HARD for go down the drain, regardless whether or not you had anything to do with it.

I can't sit there and give you words of encouragement, because I have seen with my own eyes the life you describe. I have lived that life. The medical problems, the alcohol, drugs, loss of many things I worked for, the insurmountable debt, the lonliness, I have done it all, and I have managed to do it in 6 years. I know now that it is not encouragement that one seeks through these times, it is resolution, a sight of the end.

There is no one that can give you that sight, that resolution, only yourself. You know now that encouragement really doesn't do much, because the people that give that encouragement are looking at your life through rose colored glasses, glasses most likely given to them, if you know what I mean. Most of these people think that losing a girlfriend, or a car, or something else materialistic is a life ending experience. Most of the time I ask them to live my life for a week, be damn lucky if you eat three times that week at all, let alone have time to worry about a woman, or a car, or something else you don't really need.

In the end, it is the words we speak and the actions we take that will define us all, nothing more, nothing less. You have a choice, do what you can to get better, or do what you can to make them worse. As you said, it is a choice that no one here can make, only you.
