I started my new job today at a local service station. Mostly I ring up customers buying gas and cigarettes. (I didn't card anyone all day ;) )
Our station has a corporate account with a company called Concol. They contract auto repairs to us. Today they brought in 2 cars, and picked up another one that had been worked on.
-1997 camaro z28: At first I thought it was a v6; it had no badges on it. It did have the exhaust and speedo cluster of a z28 though. It had a blown engine. One of the rods was thrown through the oil pan.
1999 Buick Regal: This car had a total brake failure. Every brake component had to be replaced.
19xx van: this had a plethora of small problems.
I was very curious what kind of company used a z28 as a fleet vehicle, and drove it so hard that they blew the engine!! THe Regal with melted brakes also made me curious.
I asked the manager in an inconspicuous manner why these corporate vehicles were so heavily abused. He pulled me aside later in my shift and said: "Don't ask questions about the Concol vehicles. All I can tell you is that they are involved with some sort of government operation regarding law enforecement. WHen I accepted the contract, they stipulated that no one asks any questions about their vehicles."
WTF!!!! I want to work for a company that gets to drive the wheels off of a z28 in downtown washington DC!!
Does anyone know anything about these guys? I really want to work for them.
