Me being the nice guy that I am, I offered to change out my girlfriend's tires to the new snow tires she bought from tirerack.com.
To make a long story short, I broke off a lug stud from both front wheels each. The threads were stripped on the one lug on the first front tire. Wasn't much I could do but keep trying to get it off until the lug broke. I got one of the rear tires off and on without too much trouble. The lug nuts on the other front tire wouldn't budge, and when I finally wrenched hard on one of them the stud broke right off. I said, "**** it", and quit right there.
I contribute it to the fact that the car's previous owner never had the tires rotated. So the tires haven't been removed in quite a long time, and some were rusted. Now I've got to take it to a mechanic in the morning, get the studs replaced and the other tires put on.
