Had an ocular migraine while driving today.

First migraine I have ever had. It scared the crap out of me. I just started loosing my vision while going down the road. It started out like I had looked into a bright light and I couldn't get that annoying spot to go away. then I could see what I looked directly at and use my peripheral vision but I couldn't see the space between the two. So I stop for gas and when I get out of the car it clears up a little. So I try to drive back to the house. It kept getting worse. I could finally see out of my right eye real well, but my left eye was real messed up. everything in the lower left area was just kinda doing that "long, very hot road going into the distance" wavy thing. Then I pulled up next to a bright red car at a stoplight and when I looked strain I couldn't see the car at all in my peripheral vision. Then I kept looking strain and I could see my fingers on the wheel but I could not see my arm. No way in hell I was going to make it home. So I went to where my mom works and had her call my step dad to come get me and take me to the doctor to figure out what is wrong. My mom thought I had had a stroke. Being the big geek I am, I was thinking some guy with a powerful laser got me while going down the road.lol But the doctor said it was probably just a ocular migraine. He drew some blood to make sure it wasn’t anything else. Find out next week. Hope that is all it was.

i get sharp pains near my heart every once in awhile.. maybe a few times a month.. hurts worse when i try to breathe in at times.. hehe any ideas?

Sounds like migraine symptoms to me I used to get them quite often and yes they suck.

I got one of those once. I was in elementary school and I got a detention for putting my head down. I couldn't read and I just felt ****ty. Coincidentally I was also late to that detention by literally a second and I got a Saturday school. Wasn't quick enough to figure out that I'd get a Saturday school whether I was late or just didn't show, so I got a detention and a Saturday for my migraine. :bendsoverandtakesitfromtheschool:

Your elementary school sounds like it sucked. Mine was the complete opposite of what your saying. But that was only a few years ago.

I get those a few times a month as well. Don't happen to often any more but when I was like 12-15 they brought me to the ground about 5 times a month. Now it just starts to hurt then hurts if I try to breath in more then halfway, completely random occurances too.
