  • Cops took our spot away !

Like hundreds of people meet up at the famous "Park Ave" in Mansfield, OH. Its like huge 4 parking lots in one and every friday and saturday night we are there. They even put up signs that said "Cruisers Welcome". Tonight at around 11pm cops swarm in and start giving out tickets just like that. Everyone just got in their cars and booked it. Like fast and furious style. People used this spot to show their rides and hang out for over 50 yrs. Muscle cars, imports... we all shared this spot. Stupid Cops. They cant get rid of us.

Many city cops are morons, most of them drive SUV's or slower snobby people's cars, like bmw, mercedes.

Out in the country, cops run around with big ol trucks, and muscle cars.

That sucks. The same thing happened to wher we all hang out around where I'm from. Although there isn't near as many of us. What we do now is just (parellel) park our cars on mainstreet and sit there and talk where there are a bunch of benches. The cops can't touch us as long as we aren't too loud or anything. There are no signs tha say anything like "2 hour parking" so we can stay there all nigh if we wanted to. Its just like anyone else that sits there during the day so they can't do anything to us at all.

Ya, we even had this little parking lot down the street for donuts and burnouts, but they keep that open... I dont know if its private property, we have been there for years and years, so the store owners never complained. If anything, the gatherings gave their stores publicity.

In austin the gather gathers kept getting moved around because morons would do burnouts. Just a tip.. don't do burnouts where your trying to get a meet going. If you piss off the owners of the parking lot they WILL force you off their property it costs them entirely too much money to repave their lots.
Show some respect and common sense.

When I said "they cant get rid of us" i meant we are just gonna gather at a different place.

Exactly! </font>[/QUOTE]YOu need permission of the property you are on. Even though its an empty parking lot at night, one guy does a donut hits a pole and dies. His family could possibly sue the owner of the property.

Does any company want that crap going on outside their store? NO! So they call the cops and boot them.

I have been to unsanctioned and even some sanctioned meets. If they are the least bit substantial in size they have this. People drinking, sometimes drugs, gambling, plans to street race, ocassionally fights, and other useless crap.

Their is a normal meet, pretty much any and all cars, they have the permission of the local businesses, though they are not organized, but are getting threatened to be kicked out. Reasons... few idiots do burnouts, couple idiots race up and down the lanes, and whats funny is the biggest reason. GARBAGE. People buy food, drink beer whatever and leave the crap next to their car when they leave. Doesn't seem like much but with 200+ cars at times. That can be alot of garbage. And it pissing of the local business owners.

sure they were the businesses cuz I can post signs like that.

IF the people gave you permission then the cops cannot do a damn thing if your are not breaking a law, tell them to piss off, have them arrest you then get them for wrongful arrest.

They did the same thing here. The main drag here is a big square, 2 blocks by 2 blocks. The kids usually don't do anything that's trouble, but the city closed down two large parking lots where people park their cars and just hang out. I mean it's not like the police station is far away(within 3 blocks of any part of the drag).

It's kinda stupid that the city would do that when the only other option is go party or sit at home with your thumb up your butt.
